I agree. It's a rather restrictive term.
But I don't blame people for people music into categories. Putting things into categories makes it easier describe a sound and to find similar music.

People get so involved with these niche subgenres and having to belong to something they lose track of the larger picture. "Like you know, I make drumstep at double time, but with dungeon style bass lines..." It's called drum and bass you twat.

I mean I dunno about blogs and shit, but I can definitely see a difference between 'dungeon' and like the roots dubstep shit. Both 140, both deep and all about the sub, but not the same. Im not really a fan of much of this dungeon sound, its just too clinical and techy, I like my shit raw and organic ennit.
Biomes post though, I mean like yeah there is alot of people jumping on house and making waste house and techno right now, but its not like all house and techno is 1 loop of shit.
