I normally just take some rum and vodka and then use the bars for beer/cider, but being able to keep a few crates at camp has always been a winner in the past - hopefully it's just people getting over-worried about the terms and conditions.
Nah it was a glasto offical email saying if you cant carry it, your not allowed it.

So is it you, V and Laser girl coming? or more than that?
Lia bailed in the end as she couldn't afford to settle the balance on her ticket whilst moving flat, so it'll be Me and V, plus a couple of mates of mine from Somerset (and their ladies, I think) plus my brother (well, he's working so probably camping backstage somewhere) and my old housemates Nik and Hattie (think you probably met them at Halloween).

Everyone from my lot is primed to head to The Park... probably park West side and try to come in near the Farm. Park Home Ground or Dairy Ground are normally pretty good shouts!

Edit: Map's too big to post : http://cdn.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/d ... MAP-v2.png

Just sent you an FB btw... :W:
ah to lose one to lack of funds is brutal.
We camped at webbs ash last year (it started pissing it down and we got desperate) wasnt bad.
Year before we got a tipi so was up that way
Guess ill send everyone that way then. Ideally we would drive down past east and go into west entrance to not have such a walk but im not sure how easy that is compared to typing it out lol

Theres me,luke, both gfs, alice and another girl going then a friend of kates meeting us there but would be good to camp together, never done that at a festival and it would be nice going to stuff with more than one other person

I've reached the point of no return now... struggling to find any motivation to work. I'm just lurking on forums I'm not a member of trying to get the latest weather gossip.

I'd take that right now.

Edit: Oh, fucker, it's just put showers all over the weekdays. Cock it.

Yeah, clock watching myself as well. 'Shopping list' was taken care of last night, got last minute camping supplies to pick up over the weekend then heading there in convoy Tuesday night.

Just realised that V doesn't have waterproofs, a big rucksack or a sleeping bag. Probably a good job I realised this now and not next Tuesday.

We'll be in Somerset from Tuesday afternoon, so driving down in godo time for gates on Wednesday morning. All crews up to the Park!

Wondering how many people will be there for early doors when they open the gates.

If the last few years are anything to go by, about half the festival... especially given that there's been a fallow year and everyone's going to be itching to get through the gates. The first few years I went, it really only started to get busy on Thursday night when everyone got out of work, but I get the impression almost everyone books Weds-Mon off now and treats the first couple of days like the best camping holiday ever.

Make sure you've got a waterproof cover for your pack... nothing worse than getting caught in a heavy shower in the queue and spending the rest of the week trying to dry out your pants.

Roll of wheelie bin bags, never go camping without them.

Worrrrrrrrrd.

My brother taught me that trick. I turned up to Glastonbury in '00 straight from an A' Level maths exam with nothing in my bag but shorts, t shirts and a bottle of water that I'd frozen overnight in the freezer. I'm not sure anyone has ever been less prepared for 5 days in the elements. By the time I met up with everyone in the Jazzworld field the heavens had opened and I was soaked... Tim made me a fucking SUIT out of black bags which kept me dry for the rest of the weekend. :U:

Nice one - I've just picked up a couple of spare batteries for my phone, so should be on the usual number. I'll give you a shout as soon as we're pitched!

We usually leave at like 4am on Wednesday and are inside by about 10am. Hopefully its atleast dry for the first day as its bollocks putting a tent up in the pissing rain.

If it rains they suck at being waterproof as only one layer :-(

My old housemate Nik took a pop-up a few years ago (a one-man too) - it only had a single skin so anything touching the sides got soaked. He wasn't a happy camper!

The 2-man ones seem pretty decent though...

Edit: Lye Form got there first.

Looks like my PR-Girl housemate has screwed up... she's been going to Glastonbury for as long as me and was relying on getting in on a press ticket this year, but apparently the Rolling Stones have bought up 500-odd backstage passes for all their hangers on so all the other artists have had their allowances slashed.

I'm silently a little bit amused that she's not managed to blag it for once, but that's a pretty poor show from the Stones if true. I don't give a fuck who you were in the 60s, you're not bigger than Glastonbury, Mick.
