Skream - Welcome 2 the Future was the song that initially turned me on to dubstep and Kode9 - 9 Samurai and Mala - Anti War Dub are a few that really got me into it.
Rather amazing what one can discover with wikipedia. My initial exposure to dubstep was my friend's cousin playing datsik all the time when we would be hanging out...

pre-2010 Skream is sick, especially the first couple skreamizm's and the releases on Southside Dubstars.

First tune that got me into listening was Distance - Koncrete, then a mix with Mala's Changes and Kryptic Minds Six Degrees is where I started DJing and tinkering in production

I heard this remix on zinc podcast and went hunting for the original. I already knew dubstep existed from breezeblock

DMZ - Haunted

That did it for me but as soon as I heard dubstep on a proper sound system, that was other-worldly

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I was sucked in by my cousin introducing me to Skrillex. I know how stereotypical that must sound, and I'll admit that. But Scary Monsters was honestly the first dubstep track I ever heard. I'm glad that I got sucked in because once I actually started digging around and discovering artists myself, it opened up a whole new world of music for me and my interests really shifted.

no shame in discovering dubstep through Skrilly when it leads you to digging deeper afterwards. :Q:
