Does that not make him a huge tnuc?RKM wrote:i heard a pretty deep story about him though, that the reason alex reece pretty much disappeared is cos he signed a deal with a new label, then when he asked goldie for money for releases like pulp fiction he beat the crap out of him then completely blackballed him from the scene...obviously this is something i read on youtube comments so v dubious but still,..harsh

What did he do?
Also, I thought you were saying he's good for doing that.

Re: Nina Kraviz
nah saying he did some booky sounding shit on top of harkat saying he threw a dude down some stairs
suge knight...just like google him...genuinely frightening dude, boss of death row records, in and out of jail, legit gang connections, all sorts of rumours about him being involved in both biggy and tupac's murders

Dubstep producer from Bristol. A 'tru hgead' would know that tbh.

Only hearing two of Pac's tunes isn't a bad thing. Dude must be one of the most over rated artists of all time

Would be good if Goldie actually produced any of it.jesslem wrote:I agree. Although, production standards were different back then. "Inner City Life" was good and "Believe" was okay, but I don't care for his other stuff.DiegoSapiens wrote:he is a great label manager, one of the best, but as a producer...

The Alex Reece one, I don't know. There are plenty of stories online about it, but it's hard to say. People who went to Swerve back in the day said that Reece was acting like a dickhead, walking round like he owned the place. Wasn't there, can't say. Pinch of salt bizzle.
The stairs thing, that one is true. Someone bootlegged a Goldie tune, Goldie found out, Goldie caught up with the bloke and threw him down the stairs at Plan B during a Metalheadz night.
Remember he also kicked off at some bass producer (name is on the tip of my tongue, but can't remember it) for doing a 'remix' of one of his tunes that XLR8R picked up. Guy shat himself when Goldie started having a go at him, published a full apology and took the tune down ASAP.
EDIT - just down a search, it was A1 Bassline - http://www.xlr8r.com/news/2011/09/dirty ... metalheadz
Re: Nina Kraviz
IIRC the stairs incident wasn't even a bootleg of a Goldie tue, just a bootleg of Pulp Fiction.
Also, yeah, Goldie uses engineers but his shit still sounds distinct. I don't picture him in the studio sitting bored and spinning around in his office chair going "yeah cool Rob, make it more soulful or something". Goldie tunes sound like Goldie tunes.

I remember some crazy interview with him years ago where he said he did the mixdown for Terminator after dropping three pills as he was convinced he could hear things smashed he couldn't normally
