Yeah, came accross that whilst reading some books trying to figure out the BIG PICTURE ye get meh. The great oracle wiki has good info check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will#Neuroscience. One explaination that preserves free will is the brain uses quantum effects where the thought moves half a second backward in time to get over the half second it takes to process reality. Not so unbelievable considering the brain is the most complicated thing that exists

Can I bully you - you're clearly a rubbish bully. You should wander past and shove me into a wall, lift your fist as if to strike me and then laugh when I flinch in front of all your bully mates, before threatening to kick me in after school and hoping I piss myself.

What the fuck are they teaching you in Bully College - fuck all by the looks of it you soft ponce. Kittens probably kick the shit out of you.
Hmm....

kiwis technically have the shortest beak of any bird even though they look like this
Image
this is because the offical way of measuring the length of a bird's beak is the distance between the tip of the beak and the nostrils, and since the kiwi smells out food with its beak its nostrils are at the end of its beak

just got reminded about this thread because of a conversation at work in which i somehow managed to sneak in this fact:

if you wear latex gloves when handling snakes they won't bite you again because they hate the taste so much. obviously not particularly useful if you have a venomous snake because they'll still bite you once

And apparently, none of the actors knew exactly what was going happen in that scene, so the expressions are genuine surprise and horror......

Also, as a result of not knowing the bird who isn't Ripley was standing in the wrong place and get knocked off her feet by the force of the blood spray hitting her square in the chest.
