Think it was probably the Rephlex
'Grime' compilation tho I was already buying dark garage stuff and it's hard to know where that stops and dubstep starts innit....

first one i heard? it's all about drawing the line. for me that line is the club. ghost1.
after that, once i got the chance i bowled down uptown records, told the bloke behind the counter i loved all that el-b and jaydaflex stuff, what i liked it about it and how i had to have some on vinyl.
the bloke behind the counter grinned and said "hello, i'm jaydaflex".
he must have been pissing himself.

Me and a mate were listening to Skream tracks on his myspace, I think Klaxons remix was first one, kept turning it up until we nearly broke the speakers.

was he lying?
Ha, didn't think of that at the time. Would have been pretty funny. Especially if the real one had turned up - "I'm Jay da Flex." "No! I'm Jay da Flex and so's my wife!" etc...
It was actually him as it turns out.

yeah i think (well from what del has told me) that a lot of the guys who work there are fairly big names in garage/2step/whatever you wish to call it, so would make sense
thinking about it thats a fairly in-conclusive sentence

not sure of a tune. first compilation was Destructive Recordings - Our Sound LP and first mix was a Marcellus Wallace and Grimelock one from October 2005. i remember this very well cos there was a tune on there that i just put back to the start and sat there, open-mouthed. the tune was Mala - Neverland
