i mean that's exactly when you should start considering exercise tbh.
shit goes to hell when hormones roll into town so you gotta nip it in the bud and not just sit there with the same eating/activity habits going 'oh well, looks like i'm just gonna be fat now'

This is what i don't get, people always blame hormones or glands for why they are fat but these hormones don't create calories.
Surely if less comes in than goes out through exercise then you will lose wait, it's just the conservation of mass.

Look up Leptin and Ghrelin and the effect hormones have on appetite control.
Leptin tells your body when you're full, Ghrelin when you're empty. If your body fails to regulate them you can effectively end up with a never ending appetite - a constantly growling stomach forcing your mind to continually think about food. Feeling "full" after eating means not overeating doesn't take ANY self-control from most of us. To argue that many obese people simply lack motivation when 'normal' people barely even have to try is a completely false equivalency borne from ignorance of how the body regulates itself.
Ranting and raving that people with leptin/ghrelin issues should be overcome their problems with willpower is like insisting diabetics "do better" regulating their body sugar rather than giving them an Insulin pen.
There's also lots of evidence to suggest that body shape is largely determined very early on and that its routines and rhythms are more 'fixed' as an adult; so it's far more effective to teach kids about nutrition than it is to go around shaming adults. Anyone that's ever lost weight will tell you it's not the losing it that's difficult - it's keeping it off as the body will normally tend to how it was when you were coming out of adolescence. If you're fat at 14, the likelyhood is you'll have to battle against being fat for the rest of your life. If you're skinny at 14, the likelyhood is you'll never have to seriously think about it. Educating kids and parents will have an effect on obesity. Further shaming already-ashamed adults is only an attractive option for spiteful, shallow-thinking people who need to shore up their own failing egos by placing themselves above another section of society.

explain

Your brain uses a lot (well, I mean, it
can use a lot...

), you might subconsciously tap your feet all the time or be prone to the odd burst of disco leg... you might just be more excitable causing frequent rushes of adrenaline getting your heart "exercising" more often than others. It could be a million things - everything your body does uses calories somehow. Physically moving around isn't the only "activity".
Alongside appetite control, your body/metabolism should also have some sort of control over how much energy gets used instantly, what gets stored for the impending bad-times and what goes out in your waste - perhaps your shit is more energy rich than the tubber next to you because the tubber's body is set up to maintain energy reserves for an expected famine that will never arrive.
I'm the same as you by the sounds of it... I've always been able to eat whatever I wanted and I'm stick-thin... exercise/lack of exercise most definitely affects my fitness and strength (more and more as I age), but doesn't seem to affect my fat levels very much at all.
Whatever it is that makes me skinny, it's not the 3 custard donuts I've had this morning.

never thought about ti like this, i am pretty much constantly in a state of alertness and tapping something or fidgeting so that would explain it
so a possible solution to this is to make fat people anxious?

We are going to solve obesity on Dubstepforum…
and it's going to be that fat people aren't eating enough
and of the correct things.
