I know you've commented on it before, but it would be nice to see more plastician on vinyl full stop.
Thanks, and BIG UP manplastician wrote:Again, like I stated before.
This is not a top top priority. It will happen at some time in the future, but until I've sorted out a shedload of other more urgent stuff I won't start the mastering process for this one.
Japan was produced in 2004 / 2005 - 5 or 6 years ago, so waiting a few more months shouldn't hurt it.
When we do get around to sorting it, it will be a limited press of 2000 vinyl only, never to be re-pressed. One side will be serato control vinyl, the other normal analog vinyl of Japan. It'll be packaged and designed really nice to make it a collectors piece. I'm still in the process of moving house as well as setting up the full terrorhythm back catalog for digital release in 2011 across all major digital music outlets. This as well as setting up everything so that the label can be run more smoothly into 2011 after various mishaps in the last 12 months.
Sorry if this is putting a downer on it, unfortunately there are more urgent matters at hand right now. Rest assured that as soon as I know anything, it will be up here / on my twitter / facebook for the world to see.
I have the digital one it's on your beg to differ album isn't it?plastician wrote:Safe!
It is released just only digitally.
Not going to do a remix. Its best left alone I think
I would too, but if last year's figures are anything to go by it might not be worth the hassle anymore!brasco wrote:I know you've commented on it before, but it would be nice to see more plastician on vinyl full stop.
Well hopefully something will work itself out! Sad to hear artists like yourself talking about vinyl like this, obviously you are alot more in the know than me, but as a vinyl head I need everything on 12 inch!! Loads of amazing tracks from the scene either lost or limited to digital, its a shameplastician wrote:I would too, but if last year's figures are anything to go by it might not be worth the hassle anymore!brasco wrote:I know you've commented on it before, but it would be nice to see more plastician on vinyl full stop.
Sad but ultimately true. To release a 12" I have to spend shit loads of time and money, and have to sell a good few hundred just to break even. Not just any time though, it's a lengthly, painstaking process in my experience which has never come without any hiccups.
I'd love to pretend everything is ok in the vinyl industry. You can read all the articles about it in the world but the truth is that people are just not buying it any more. Unless I produce something that is getting smashed on daytime national radio, it's not going to shift units.
And by units I mean you're lucky to shift a few hundred copies if your track is not one of the scene's must have tunes of the moment.
Where I'm trying to push new artists and different styles thru the label its becoming increasingly difficult to even make your money back.
I'm still going to do it though, just waiting for the right tunes to come thru. Or the right label to release em in the case of my own productions if and when I finish anything! I'm sat on a few bits here at the moment and am speaking with a couple of artists about possible terrorhythm releases but nothing is in stone right now.
