i've taken to calling it whatever i'm doing at the time with the word 'step'

- when hungry: 'hey _____, after this u wanna cookstep'

- when planning to play with encanti who likes pandas too: 'tuesday night seems like a good night for pandasteppin'

- when talking about darkstar's new release on hyperdub 'this is some serious sexstep'

- when eating a ham sandwich and someone asks me what I DJ: "hamstep."

- when someting sounds real smooth 'ah yes way to spread the butterstep'

I hate it when people ask what sort of music I make and then have them say "I don't know what that is" and then explain to them that it's a spin off from garage, them not know what that is, and then gradually explain the history of music back until they recognize a name by which point any comparison is completely worthless - "Oh James Brown, yeah I know him" - "Yeah, well it sounds nothing like that"
