noodles and nintendo: say shit about being inspired by nintendo games

how could this happen: experimenting with the unusual triplet sort of sound not found much in dance music

mindscape: taking chord progressions from oldschool rave and using them in a more modern context?

For the fourth I'd search your hard drive for something a bit more experimental and 'out there' (or start something new). The course is mostly focused on cutting edge experimental sound work (work with max/msp etc), so I think one piece of something that is a bit sound-design-ish would really help your application.

P.S: q_steppa

p.p.s: If you're struggling with this simple application task, u might want to really rethink doing this course, you're going to be doing this shit constantly, and if you don't enjoy it/aren't good at it, then it might not be worth doing. Obviously I don't actually know anything about you or the reasons you asked for help, but uni's a big deal, and the bath spa course is pretty useless unless you really love doing what they're teaching.
thanks for the advice and i am glad to hear its not that hard to get in. i am not really struggling with the task but i thought a bit of advice cant hurt can it.

anyway i think i have decided which tunes i will send them: noodles and nintendo, noise complaint, mindscape and i will try to make a new ambient experimental tune that is far from dubstep. i would really appreciate any feedback on those tunes.
Mate, that's all wrong. Bath spa uni shortlist over 2000 applicants into just 20 places. I would reaaaaaaly try hard man. btw, what qualifications do you already have in music related subjects? dont wanna dampen your spirit, but they do favor a music tec diploma at a distinction level.
shit!!! i havent got anything music related thats why i wanted to make sure my CD was as good as possible.

I guess getting a qualification in sound engineering helps to learn tasks which you may not be equiped at home for.. (Recording bands/choirs etc).

Outside of that. Practice makes perfect, and reading all you can on the subject helps understand shit under the hood. I've never done a music course, but I know enough about production to teach kids get their head around most audio basics.

Like the graphics industry, I think having a diverse portfolio and lots of perseverance pays (litrally).

Putting things in perspective.... Who gives a fuck if Michael Jackson has a performing arts or music degree?

Not what I've heard...I had quite a decent level of qualification when I applied, but my opinion was based more on the fact that of all the people I've known apply to the course, not a single one had been turned down.

Where did u get your figure from? Never quite imagined they'd get 2000 apps on a course as obscure as that...maybe I'm wrong.

Sorry for threadjacking and being a prick >.<
But yeah, I had a thought today, never be afraid to try something out if you think it may work, because you can add it and it might sound fantastic, but if it's shite, you can just scratch it.
But yeah, just go over each tune, taking anything (anything, however small) that you think either could be better, or just doesn't work at all, and spend weeks repeating this process and you should end up having something beastly that you're mega proud of (:

You bloody faschist!

i'll second that - abusive, non contributory... generally making the production forum look as if the average age of users is 13. don't need him.
