im sure dmz just keeps gettin better.. as do mysikz sets.. that was possibly my favourite yet.. same for yunx what a feckin soulja.. was throwin myself about like a freakin nutjob right til i hit the 5o'clock wall, then was reduced to a feeble head nod til 5.30 when there was no choice in the matter - i just had to find me bed! big ups to cluekid & cotti though, they might not have been mixin but their dubs were some heavy next level!

out to loe, mala, coki & pokes, yunx and ntypo, boomnoise, appleblim and necta, joseph j, lady k and her flatmate, thecrane, hawkeye and dj small - fuckin love you all! big yo to geiom aswell real good to meet you fella!

oh and dont worry deapoh, ive been goin to dubstep nights for almost as long as there has been any - i aint ever in any photos either, even though i flail with the best of em - believe!

safe.

Yeah, was a good night, very glad I came up from Bristol. Agree that Pinch played set of night, followed by Youngsta. Was a bit disappointed with Kromestar to tell the truth, found his set a bit ploddy, and dmz played some nice exclusives but all those rewinds totally disrupted the flow.

Great to catch up with loads of folk though - big ups Ali, Derek, Simon KCP and B.

They held back on rewinds far more than in previous DMZs :) It wasn't every tune this time..

Plus, it's not like they have a choice. It's barely ever the actual DJs that do the rewinding. Few people in the DJ booth being a bit cheeky :D Also, whilst there might've been a few too many rewinds in total, try arguing with any one of them in isolation. The tunes deserved it.

i don't think anyone's arguing it's the djs fault, far from it. i agree most of the tunes that were pulled up deserved it, but it's when like five tunes in succession are getting pulled up, and two of them are pretty old anyway, and the people pushing button aren't even letting the dj finish mixing it in (mala looked rightly annoyed once or twice), and furthermore (crucially) NO-ONE IN THE CROWD'S BEEN CALLING FOR IT, well then it's a bit unnecessary and ruins the flow of the set.

generally it was fine though. :)

(though i don't think that was fewer rewinds than usual, it was about the same as usual since the move)

That's very true. Only happened a couple of times though.. there were a couple of extremely naughty folk in the DJ booth. No idea who they were though!

I think a couple of people from the crowd might have 'pulled it up' (reached up and put their hand on the record) a couple of times during Mystikz. And yeah, I think Mala did look a bit annoyed on occasion. Which is fair, doing that isn't on.

yeah, prolly didnt help it was turned down a bit, but dont think it was varied enough tbh - good to see new faces playin though..

do we really have to go on and on about rewinds, im not the biggest fan of em but im less a fan of feckin debatin whether they good or not! (though if punters that the dj dont know are doin it then thats just plain wrong!)

This has happened fairly regularly at DMZ before without any issue.

I come to dmz to PARTAY not to stand about listenin. I skank and when a tune gets pull up I turn to my pals for a quick word up. Then tune drops in and I'm like 'yeah let's party'. Then it gets pull up again and I say to some random girl 'this tune is buff wanna dance' and she's like yeah let's dance but wait til mala drops alicia keys and I'm all like 'dream girl'... Then we skank to it and in the break of the tune she sings cays crays chorus in my ear and I'm like 'marry me please'

That is why rewinds are heavy.
