Ridiculous.
why is that so ridiculous?, so its got to take people too spend there own money just so somebody else can rip the vinyl and post it up for others to download for free..

oh thats right, there's nothing wrong with that, how silly of me..

i agree that it is ridiculous that somebody who doesnt own the vinyl therefore shouldnt be able to hear the track, that makes perfect sense.

but you are talking about vinyl rip's, WHOLE vinyl rips...how do you not think thats a pisstake??

that people are EXPECTED to rip it just for the benefit of those who havent got decks..oh and + its illegal??? does that not come into it you think??

you pay for the vinyl rip after it has been okayed by the artist to be put out like that, then so be it...
If there's no MP3 release i have no problem with vinyl rips at all.

I don't understand your argument. Explain this statement.

What you were saying was, that you didnt agree with my statement, that if you dont have decks, you should be able to download the vinyl rip...is that correct?

My argument back to you, was that how is that okay to do?

I am not atall implying that if you dont own a fucking turnable you shouldnt be able to listen to the track, that would be ridiculous.

My argument is that a vinyl rip of a VINYL ONLY release, is illegal, and shouldnt even exist, if only for CDR purposes, not for people to download & listen to for free.

Apologies if that was a bit erratic in reply, now do you understand?

Yes, i understand what you're saying. But still disagree.

If a label doesn't do an MP3 release it can't really complain about people illegally swapping digital versions of their tunes. That's just my opinion. Plus I've never seen a vinyl only label complain anyway.

I'm not spending nearly £1000 on 2 decks and a mixer when I have no interest in becoming a vinyl DJ. I honestly can't believe that anyone would do that. Supporting through MP3's is something i would do no problem though.

Rips, torrents etc are last resort.

it would be interesting to see how the previous generations faired with hearing vinyl only releases, I mean, I am too young to know, presuming you would, how did you go about hearing the vinyl version if you wasnt a DJ, or didnt have a turntable? (them jungle, hardcore even speed garage days)

without youtube or fucking torrents (stnuc stnuc stnuc and limewire)

Dunno. I'm 23, have always used the internet for music.

lol @ stnuc, stnuc, stnuc - think of all the people discovering new music all the time because of places like Limewire and the Pirate Bay, then later buying releases, going to shows etc. It's just so shortsighted.

I don't think Dubstep would be where it's at now without torrents, rips etc.

i don't agree with torrents but rips are slightly different i think as it's not full quality and just means the tune can be listened on other means than decks ie ipod.

silkie train wreck mix up for those that might have missed it.
