thought i'd add this for reference :
Music Tutorial - Installing VST's in Fruity Loops
Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 03:24 PM - Technology
Posted by Administrator
VST's are plugin instruments and effects.

VST stands for ... Virtual Studio Technology.

They are compatible with many sequencers and applications ie.

FLStudio
Logic
Soundforge
Cubase
Making Waves

For this tutorial we will be looking at FLStudio.

You put them in the Fruity loops plugin folder.

You can find it by looking under ...

c:\program files\flstudio\plugins\vst\
(the path may differ depending on which version you're running)

^^^
This is where you should install any new VST's you find.

There are lots of free VSTs on the internet ... but you should use youtube to look @ producers you like, this will give you a good insight into which effects and instruments they're using.

Once you've got one you want to use install it to your fruity loops VST plugin folder. (as stated above)

After you've installed your new VSTs ...
(To fruity's plugin folder)

Load fruity
Go to the step sequencer (F6)
Click right to add a channel
Go to more
This will load the FL plugin window.
Then click refresh at the bottom.
Your VST should appear in the list. (Shown in red)
Check the box next to the new VST.
Close the FL plugin window.
When you now click right to add a channel your new VST should be available.

nb.
Some VSTs are FX rather than instruments these will need to be added to channels in the FX mixer they will not work in the step sequencer and vice versa instruments will not work in the effects channel.

Have fun producing.
More music tutorials soon.

If you're doing wobbles, just retrigger the mofo.

I asked this question in general on the production forum but because it is centrally a problem I'm having with FL Studio, I thought I'd ask it here...

Everytime I record anything with my midi controller, be it in pattern mode or song mode, it never records the piano roll notes where they should be. There is always a delay and I have to actually move them to where I originally played them.

Does anyone know of a way to stop this from happening?

I use a Presonus Firebox audio interface with a Custom built 2.3 Ghz PC with 4 gigs of ram so it can't just be a latency problem...

Thanks in advance by the way :t:

Buffer Length is "2400 samples (55ms)" but I'm not sure where to find the size... where would I find it and what should I have it set to?

hey guys,

im new to both dubstep and fruity loops so please excuse what are prob stupid questions.

1. i use sytrus to make my wobble and was wondering if there is a way to have 2 different wobble speeds in 1 sytrus pattern?

2. is there a way i can copy a pattern so i dont have to spend ages trying to get the setting right in seperate sytrus patterns?

hope that makes sense to you guys, i have a track i made using the 3xosc. had some good feedback. would any of you mind if i emailed it you for feedback/criticism? i know theres a thread for that but only have the track on mp3 on my pc.

cheers.

1. Press f1 and read about automation. You can use lovefilter aswell as filter, it has a pattern function where you can draw wobbles by your self or just use the event edits in the piano roll to automate the cutoff. There are many to do it. Check youtube for tutorials.

2, Right click on the pattern in the playlist , then "clone selceted". There are other ways too.

And dont forget, always read the manuals or search for tutorials, before you asking in forums.
