There being exposed to like, the shite side of dubstep and not the actual good shit.
If these people have integrity they will seek out the good music and these days its so much more accessible. Don't worry for these people, one day they might find this forum.
They already have mate. Some of the threads and the chin strokers on here does my head in.

Never heard of this Doorly. Couldn't be bothered to listen to the music either. I can already tell it's shit by his shit name.

You're ruining dubstep by not allowing people to express their opinion because for some inexplicable reason it matters to you and affects your enjoyment of the music...

no-one said you couldn't listen to it and enjoy it...they just said it was gash....this is someone expressing their opinion...you just expressed yours...

people are allowed to think music is shit....they don't hate all dubstep they just hate certain dubstep...i'm sure you're slated music in your life many times....this makes you a hypocrite...

Good music ftw

What's ruining Dubstep? Dubsteppers, especially the ones who "know" exactly what it is and isn't.

Oh, and me. I'm ruining it too. At least trying to anyway.

I still love Dubstep no matter what! ( I cant wait to listen to one of the next big mixes by some of you guys! just finished DL Jokers newset).
Just remember,
we cant all be genius and fucking perfect, and we all have to make a bunch of tracks before it sounds good. theres even a chance they just never make it. just suck it up. and produce some more ;)

In my opinion, Doorly is simply producing tracks which fall under the genre umbrella of Dubstep. A genre which in my understanding has always been widely noted as being open to experimentation of ideas and concepts with hardly any ground rules as such. If you don’t like someone’s take on the sound move onto someone’s you do.

I am not saying that people should not be able to express their opinions and this is even more so on a public forum. It’s just that if I hear a tune I don’t like I would rather spend the time finding one that I do than complaining about ones that I don’t.

Well that’s my say :)

speaking from a dj point of view, the doorly / dizzee rascal remix is one of the few 'dubstep' tracks guaranteed to work on the dancefloor with a 'non-dubstep' crowd.

along with other tracks (caspa / deadmau5, rusko / crookers, nero / streets, skream / la roux etc) - they not only enable the dj to play some other dubstep tracks and keep the dancefloor going - but also raise people's interest in the genre.

i appreciate that a lot of you dont personally like the 'crossover' tracks but i think you have to realise that people like doorly are opening up the dubstep genre to a whole new fanbase (with his bootleg remixes for dizzee & calvin harris both being the most downloaded tracks on the hype machine).

people all over the world are listening to doorly (or in for the kill, eastern jam etc) and if they like what they hear then they will go in search of more dubstep - which surely is a good thing.

surely rather than wasting time slagging people off on forums you should spend the time being productive (making tracks / djing / listening to stuff you do like).

from speaking to doorly both the bonkers & not alone remixes were bootlegs (without having access to the original parts). surely is positive to see a relatively 'unknown' dj / producer make some bootlegs - and then get some of the biggest djs in the world playing them!

here is a little video of diplo dropping the bonkers mix @ stealth : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jpaH7NNu18

whatever you say - it goes off every time :)

Look, SOMEONE needs to make dubstep for the under 12 market

If its like this they'll hopefully get so excited that they all run out into the path of oncoming cars and cop a fat bumper to the grille

Then knife crime will drop like my trousers in a public place

The new hanna montana album is gonna be completely dubstep, with remixes from Jakes, Pinch, Rusko & Scuba and special guest Lee Perry.

Tekka wrote:enough with all the fucking hating already.

just because it isn't mala or skream, doesnt mean that it's bad.

the tracks he makes serve a purpose, and when you got a crowd who normally listen to mainstream music and you drop the bonkers or the calvin harris remix, trust me, place will go off.

in my opinion doorly is doing the exact oposite of ruining dubstep, he's making dubstep more accesable to a bigger crowd, and that's a good thing.
Best comment which had been made on this issue.

I got into dubstep because I heard Where's My Money at a commerical student night in Uni.

Now im into everything in regards to dubstep (expect minimal).

So what if people get into dubstep because of commerical remixes? If they like dubstep enough, they'll get into the scene more, and be like me and get into the "good stuff" as u lot like to call it.

And personally I like the bonkers remix, not too fussed on the Calvin Harris remix, but I do like the new Raindrops remix and the Example remix of Hooligans
