Hey JahTao you will have fun regardless of what you do or where you go!! Tokyo is basically shopping, eating and drinking but there are a few sights to get in.
On another note:
TOKYO BASS MUSIC!
So much wicked stuff revolving around bass music in Tokyo ATM, of course Goth (
http://www.myspace.com/gothtrad ) is pushing his sounds and has become internationally quite well known but there is a bunch of other stuff around atm worth a look
check SKE's tune "No title/ SKE and Taika"
http://www.myspace.com/sekske
Female MC "Rumi" released a fantastic album this year with bits by Goth Trad, SKE and Skyfish
Check out Heso-CHa with Skyfish, on a big rig this is sick:
http://www.myspace.com/mcrumi
Skyfishs page (why no audio player!!??!!)
http://www.myspace.com/djskyfish
New Drum and bass and DUBSTEP label IAI recordings (with proper distro and cutting tunes to wax)
check ENA's tune ADA-UCHI (and country dub is sick also)
http://www.myspace.com/iairec
HYAKU MADO's doing some cool bits too:
http://www.myspace.com/dj100mado
There are some other artists out there but this is the stuff that instantly
comes to mind- please check it out!

jahtao- Def go before Monsoon season.
And if you get the chance I highly suggest hitting up Kamakura. That town is breath taking! Great Buddah is there, tons of awesome shrines, really great temples and views that are omg! And it's not that long of a train ride south of Tokyo.
If you come across a Chuhai stand def hit it up. For round 400yen you can't go wrong. I personnally dig the apple ones but 3 is my max. 4 is stumble home action right there.

I had no idea dubstep had such a following in Japan. I just moved to Tokyo from Ireland last month and there's way more happening here than there was in Dublin. Next week alone there's two Kode9 gigs and a Mary Anne Hobbes Dub Warz night in Unit.

Hyped about heading off for another year in Japan in a matter of weeks and remembered this classic thread. Funny looking back at the the posters in the thread and how I've since become friends with a number of them.
It's nuts how much time has passed since we had this discussion, with nights popping up all over Tokyo now.
Did anyone ever make it out back in 06/07?
