Agreed and I'd say not the classical european, socialist or communist kind of lefty. Only really the modern social leaning democrats post ww2 or american democrats. He's very popular ofcourse but more middleground in general in the world but with your two party system in mind, it can be hard to pinpoint middle ground in the political spectre anywhere else tbf.
