Take Shelter

Don't know why I waited so much to watch this. Michael Shannon is breathtaking and I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Must-see

Cell 211
Image
On his first day, a prison guard poses as an inmate out of necessity when a riot breaks out.

A fair few genuinely tense moments and I couldn't guess the ending, so for me it was a jolly good film :4:

Decent, nothing special, but pretty entertaining. The ever-present cooky-but-lovable nerd character is done very well indeed by Moises Arias, but he's no McLovin'.

I've got about 1 and a half hour in.
It's good so far.
Pretty slow though but worth the watch imo.

Detachment (2011)

Beautifully made, but depressing as fuck. The teenage prostitute portrayed by Sami Gayle is haunting and Brodie works beautifully in the lead, but it could've done with a few more moments of light, if only to make the dark stand out more... felt pretty beaten up by the end.

But not as beaten up as the cat.

Prisoners

From the guy who brought you Incendies. Some Fincher-level shit, great performances from Jackman & Gyllenhaal, Dano is great as well although he doesn't do much. If you like your thrillers this is a must-see

He's brilliant, but I can't not see Ron Swanson. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing...

Never seen a single episode of Parks & Recreation... is it any good ? Only saw him in the men who stare at goats and we're the millers, and he was funny in both. In kings of summer he's got a real role, interesting character to play and I thought he was really good at it

I wish I wash Ron Swanson... or at least wish he was my Dad.

I watched Ill Manors yesterday. Seemed a bit pretentious to me at times and I have mixed feelings about it.
I wonder what British people think of it?
