There very much IS such a thing as a stupid question.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask them

No.

Any question has rationality on it's side if asked in the right circumstance, but a stupid person won't understand the nuances of when not to ask certain questions due to inappropriate timing/situations/etc.

I was actually on the verge of just agreeing with your original sentiment, but just wanted to point out that either doesn't negate each other. But thinking about it and using your logic there, I believe you can just reverse yours.

Any person has rationality on his side if he's asking a stupid/simple question in the right context, but a stupid/simple question can't contain the nuances needed in certain situations due to timing etc.

A dumb question in the 'wrong' context can become valid. . lol

Which would make it no longer a stupid question.

There are also those who do not understand a question and then call it stupid when in fact it made sense, they just didn't get it.

Then there are questions that people who are uninformed or ignorant ask that people label as stupid because they already know the answer and don't have enough empathy to imagine what it is like to not know the answer. Like people who are new to production are often labelled stupid even though they are many times smarter than the person who is calling them stupid, they just haven't been exposed to necessary information. In reality I would say those who call someone stupid for this reason are actually stupid themselves for not understanding why the person had to ask the question in the first place.

I've seen this happen both on the production forum and in real life. Like i know people in real life that have been producing for several years and i know people who have been producing for a few weeks. The newcomers are often labelled stupid by the vets but (and i've seen this happen multiple times) give em 3 months and some of those newcomers become better producers than some of the vets in only a few months time.

There are more scenarios too, like straight up stupid, you've been told 10 times before and you still don't get it kind of questions, but I thought I'd mention these two.

I actually thought this was a Mala tune for soooo long and really annoyed me that I couldn't find out the name of it, it was only when I realised it was in a Reso mix that I'd downloaded ages ago and checked the tracklisting that I found out it was Pangaea

Hands down one of my favourite tunes of any genre, Vivek's played it at System bare times as well, always gives me goosebumps hearing it on that rig
