I watched 'we where warriors' in the weekend coincidentally and that is just not true. But I love the oppinion that arrogance is only a bad thing - I'm just not sure wether the whole situation then warrants the way they conducted themselves, but probably. Watch it!.

Granted, but their private lives aren't in question here. We are considering their abilities as african american roll models in relation to the media and how one came off as a tnuc and the other didn't.

I thought you meant Don King eventhough the doctor bit obviously should've cleared it up for me.

Look.. it's not as if the way he behaved shouldn't be percieved as arrogant or just too much in todays climate, but in historic terms he is to be considered a very important figure in american society, in part by being that way.
He spoke out for the disenfranchised, made a mockery of vietnam and mocked the establishment with that very same attitude and it was probably needed.
There's no doubt that Miles Davis and James Brown were horrible people but it's still missing the point calling them out on their attitude, I think.

My Mum spent a big chunk of her pregnancy with me watching Ireland win the 5 Nations. My Dad managed to talk her out of naming me Ciaran at the last minute when she realised that naming her youngest son after a bloke she fancied might be slightly weird. Apparently they'd got Simone down in case of a girl, so they just lost the e.
