Track after dope track of new sounds and genres can be found in the immaculate production of ‘No Shortcuts’, the latest Cold Busted 15 track release from Gramatik. A mixture of instrumental Hip Hop, Dubstep and Indie Dance with his gratifying touches of Soul and Funk, the album showcases enticing new synthesizers. A hybrid of Hip Hop and Dubstep at 93 BPM ‘Who Got Juice’ drops in with authoritative full bass lines popping off with a peppered soul sample, mauve synths and drum rolls. Following is ‘Liquified’ an imaginative Dubstep song around 75 BPM, welding a classic violin loop, and wobbling deep bass lines, an infectious snare, 8 bit bleeps and fresh sampling. ‘Blood Ties’ brings in exotic Middle Eastern sounds, a sitar melody, tribally drums and drops in big with fat undulating synths and seamless, fluctuating drum patterns. Spiritual and contagious, ‘I Really Do Believe’ ramps in with soulful organ keys, echoing choppy vocals, hi hats and arpeggios of colorful synths for a gentle explosion of beats and melody. ‘The Night Hawk’ screeches in with edgy electro synths and full, distorted beats layered with funky vocals and horns progressing into a full on dance floor banger. Ending the album is ‘To Get By’ a nostalgic, mid-nineties influenced tune with intelligent synths, talkative basslines and beats that double time into a danceable spread of apt electronic sounds. Epic, provoking, cinematic, inspiring and appealing to many audiences ‘No Shortcuts’ warms us up for Gramatik’s 2010 Fall Tour with Pretty Lights starting this late October!

Weird Science is the accompaniment to the breathtaking, as yet unrealised,
hookah-lounge set retelling of John Hughes' masterpiece.
This is what Oingo-Boingo's theme would have sounded like if Anthony Michael-Hall
was addicted to painkillers and Kelly LeBrock was made of sub-bass.
Sprawled out across the couch in the back room, Fuzz was trying to
make club music but put a few too many of the right ingredients in.
When the timer hit zero, a record stumbled out, telling him to turn the alarm off,
and instantly became the soundtrack to a million night-bus cliches.
The summer is almost over and Stoke Audio is back with a new 4 track EP produced by one of Bristol’s best dubstep producers, Actraiser. Los Angeles' Mimosa has made a distinct mark on the west coast sound in the past two years and has become one of the top west coast exports. This young producers energy whilst performing is magnetic; the word has spread fast and Mimosa has recently shared the stage with the likes Benga, Skream, Rusko, Datsik, Glitch Mob, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar and Flying Lotus, playing shows across the US and festivals like Coachella, Symbiosis Gathering, Burning Man and Decibel Festival and of course, gracing the stage at the now-legendary Low End Theory in Los Angeles. Mimosa brings an energy that is as fierce as it is friendly, taking listeners and audiences on journeys through urban chaos and ecstasy. His new full length 'Silver Lining' is dropping October 4th, 2010 on SF based Muti Music.
Mimosa's production expertise has been in high demand and collaborations with Marines Parade's Panty Raid have been featured on Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC radio show. His track "Lights In The Night" composed with Sleepyhead as 'Sexytime' was also featured on the Symbiosis Gathering 2009 Compilation along with artists Eskmo and Beats Antique amongst others.
His past releases have shown an ability to move effortlessly between Dubstep, Glitch Hop and Experimental Hip Hop.
He's been releasing on San Francisco dubstep/glitch centric label Muti Music for the past three years and will be touring extensively throughout the fall.
The latest offering from Tactus called 'Low' EP marks a high point in the ABAGA Records catalogue. Mangled is the first of four tracks on this dubstep infused EP with a rattling snare-slapped start that flows into a sumptuous reggae groove of live guitar and powerful sub. Cunning production envelops this mellow tune of many textures in a blanket of harmony and the listener enjoys a smooth ride of reggae vibes and sweet dub groove that leans towards Lee 'Scratch' Perry's tape delay filled sound. Low then slips effortlessly on to Beg. This layer cake of a tune boasts a grizzly dance floor riff with keyboard kisses behind melodic guitar on a bed of filthy wobble bass making it danceable while remaining chilled out.
Third on the EP is Why Wait. An upbeat tropical tone runs through this sunny reggae riled number with hints of Kromestar influence. The warm driving bass line rides confidently to climax in the last quarter and rounds off in a satisfying melodic outro. Finally Low goes out with a bang as it ends on the faster Subterfuge, a true to form four-to-the-floor thriller from Tactus doing what he does best. This calypsychotic tune has a unique happy-horror feel to it. A quirky dance floor filler to be makes Subterfuge a proud finish to one hot and dirty dubstep EP.
New Release on Tipping Point Music from The Colonel
...comprising jump-up, basswobbling, orchestral cockney aggro monster How Can I Put This?, alongside the womping, horn-driven broken skank of Badboy Steppa.

After a long summer hibernation rootplex awakens, and brings fresh new moody bass bumps – perfectly suited for this autumn season.
Superdub Symmetry is Xoki's followup to Shades of Ultradub, which showcased his original fusion of technoid dubstep and garage with a dark, dubby and reduced aesthetic.
This time the sound is rougher, thicker and oozing with boombastic funk momentum.
Super-Symmetry starts of with an earth-rattling bass loop which gradually builds into a super-dubbefied slice of dark techy garage, with toe-tapping percussion syncopations, fat evolving synth pads and a groove to die for.
Rain Dwellers turns the pace down a notch, and starts a journey of multilayered, rain-soaked big city melancholia in a dubhouse style. Full of blurry, dusty synth chords singing the futurist blues while hazy vocal snippets float in and out of focus – like long lost memories of people and places.
Super-Magnetic marks an end to the piece, with it's instantaneous funk flowing freely beneath the ancient sounding organs, flutes and tambourines. A thick and dirty dub aesthetic is present throughout the track, with wet splashy effect patterns and a devastating bass groove.
Three slices of fine dub-infused grooveage for the people
Sick Cycle - `Smoke & Mirrors EP` [Dubstep/Grime] There's a shadowy underground cult lurking in the darkness of dubstep music and Sick Cycle is synonymous with it's soundtrack. A haunted moody synth opener, entitled `Deceit`(a-side) provides the perfect intro for 3 groovy and heavily breaks oriented Dubstep dark rollers,
`Change`(b-side), `Murmur` (c), and `7.62mm` (d).
pre-order at iTunes and Amazon. Release 15th November.
