@ JLproductions- lovin it, eerie synth line; bongos, simple dub beat, little chirp before the drop;; bass super dark, it sounds like its trying to tell me something.. something along the lines of "im dark and hungry, give me or ill take it !" ; good progression and good vibes!

@Loud Flavor-Lovin the drum pattern and what yu did with the snares in the intro, the way yu brought in those dark sounds and the bass in the intro is very good, rage against the machine samples gets a 5/5 and another 5/5 for the way yu used it, "UH!" very well put together, solid track!

@Specimen-Yarp- really feelin' the trippy synths, the drop was a complete surprise for me, and a good one at that! i can see this is just a little snippet of the track ; but so far so good, suggestion- a little modulation on the bass at some point. :)

Heres a New WIP i started yesterday;; there is currently no bassline, and it might get pretty boring after about 30 seconds cuz right now its just the melody/intro and i havent done much to it yet;; but i thought i'd just throw it up, cheers!

therebel730 - cool foundation, but there are a couple thing that could be better... The slide on the synth get a little annoying after a while, maybe turn the amount down a bit, it's a good melody though. Also, the switch up in the drum pattern at .22 seems a little weird. Too jolly for everything else that I'm hearing in the song so far :P That could be fixed when more elements are added in though.

I'm new to this forum and producing dubstep. I have been composing about for 6months now. I have two unfinished songs at my soundcloud. I'm hoping some comments on my tracks. What to improve and so on. I'm using fl9 + massive etc.

EDIT: sry about reading the rules thing. heres my reviews of songs.

@ hudson. snare drum could be bit smoother. that is only bad thing I can say about your song, really dig this vibe u got. reminds me of burial somehow.

@ therebel730

really nice drum pattern. but kick should be much fatter imho. and snare could use some rewerb.

@ lightshaper

LOVIN that bassline on the remix of psychopath. really cool remix.

Heres the first one. It's called Vitafit Pineapple Juice

Soundcloud

And the second one is called Dubro at this point.

OK. Here it goes.

@Specimen-Yarp
Soundcloud[/quote]

I like the intro.. a kind of haunting wobble. I would lose the kick roll before the drop for sure though man. That is cheesy and cliched as fuck in my opinion.. it belongs in a mid 90's eurodance song. The mid bass after the second drop is a bit harsh, I would add some sub to that and turn it right down.. it overpowers the rest of the tune. I like the little chimey melody that goes all the way through. Really good base to build on though buddy

@lightshapers - Really like the variation in the bass line mate. That piano line sends my thoughts all over the place too. Very deep. Really like the lead that comes in on the second drop too.

@therebel730 - Quality synth line. Reminds me of early garage/grime.. kinda oxide and neutrino ish. You could write a heavy bass line under that. I also like the simplicity of the drum beat, I think that really works with a synth line like that

This is mine again
Soundcloud

It is by no means finished at all, just threw down a few ideas. I think I am going to try to make the intro a bit more dubish with an organ or guitar or something and get rid of the piano after the first couple of bars

@sawtoothsoldier - I really dig this! This is really chilly, keep it up!

@therebel720 - I think it's an amazing intro, definitely something you should keep working on! Though I would have loved to hear a bassline! ):

@lightshapers - I haven't heard the original, but I really love that track!

Here is my WIP, haven't worked on it for more than an hour or so, but would love some ideas and whatnot:

DubMikey - That's pretty cool, it's weird, which is good. I know I said this about someone else's song a while back, but the intro sounds like it could be a cartoon theme song. Maybe I'm just watching too many cartoons lately :P The bass sounds a little boring, maybe add some more layers to it?

Any comments on this? It's pretty different than anything I"ve done before so I'd really appreciate some constructive criticism. It's not done at all btw :P

@hudson - First off: Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it! Second off: I really, really like that shit! I've been listening and relistening to your track and I can't really find any constructive thing to say, cause it's just awesome, just the shit I like! :)

@hudson: Cool intro. The drop was unexpected but thats not necessarily a bad thing ;). Only thing I'd say is maybe bring up the lower end of your bass. If you have a seperate sine bass layer I would turn that up a bit.

@Ralfzilla: Pretty neat ambient vibes you've got going. IMO you reverbed out your lead bass just a bit much. The sounds you have chosen for the drums are pretty cool but I think that your song could greatly benefit from a lot of variations in the beat patterns. Just chuck in some different rhythms and see what happens haha.

@Sawtoothsoldier: This is awesome! Really unique, I love how its chilled out but not so ambient/minimal. I really like the keys, they give it a real hip-hoppy vibe. When the lead bass drops it doesn't mess up the original idea of the song, which is something I've noticed a lot of people doing on here as of late. Your drum samples are spot on as well. I'd say don't completely do away with the piano after the first few bars. Keep that idea going on further into the song. Other than that, I can't really give anymore constructive advice on this. I'd love to have a copy when its done!

Here's mine. Never really seen any moombahton get posted here but thats alright.

@NorCoDubstep - Liking the drums. The break at around :40 doesn't sound right to me for some reason. Also the drop doesn't seem to do the buildup justice, perhaps you can add to/change up the percussion?

@DubMikey - Not a big fan of the melody/bass, but the rest sounds good. The bass just seems a bit aimless to me.

@sawtoothsoldier - I like where it's going but the mix lacks a bit. Some parts sound too loud [some voice samples, the bass at times, the drums are a bit weak]. Cool wobbles.

I've been awake the last two days in front of my computer slaving over this track, it's nearing completion but every time I hear it I think of more things to add on to it. After some sleep I'll either finish it properly or wonder what in the hell I was thinking making this.
WARNING: This is NOT dubstep. And it probably won't make sense if you skip through it.

@hudson- deffinately prefer the track in your sig more :P I think the midrange overwhelms everything. I reckon bring those drums out a bit more, beef up the sub, you should be sweet. I dig the intro, sounds like got alot going on in there.

@Voodedo- a chill yet danceable vibe- totally digging it man. I'd say you could bring the vocals out a little more, but then again, it sounds real trippy the way it is. Really spacey vibes!

@ralfzilla- that is a fucking dark sub man, lovin' it. The midrange sounds quite muddy imo. If you found the right sounding synth you could have a really nice melody going on over that sub. Digging the dark percussion.

here's my wip, feedback appreciated.

@NorCorDubstep You did an excellent job at keeping the drop interesting something that is pretty difficult for me to achieve.

@Voodeedoo Nice ambient feel to the track I really cant think of anything to improve it other than what budsteq said about bringing the vocals out more.

@budsteq Not really liking the flange on the clap. If I were you id try adding other synths during the drop to make it more interesting.
