- [+] Spoiler
- I think, I don't know... but I think the idea of a robot like that was actually around in 1890 when orthodox jewism took on the hat and the curls etc.. which is ironic

I think that's quite fitting tbh. Takes someone who wastes money on junk like that down a notch.

Easy to say that when you can;t afford them yourself. I like to talk shit about rich people but if it was me you better believe I'd be buying them rides.
Not a Veyron though, they ugly

For me it's not so much an issue of affordability versus tastes, cars are fucking shit imo.

I love seeing people in flash cars. It's been a core motivation of mine since I was about 8.
When I lived in the West End I couldn't leave the house without seeing supercars.. my next door neighbour had an Aventador and a Range Rover with matching custom plates... Bentleys were about as common as VWs are where I live now... all it ever did was make me determined to make a success of myself.
Jealousy is for people who've resigned themselves to failure.

Are you even old enough to drive one?

When I grow up I would like to bow down to some idiotic arbitrary standards of quality that someone else has put in place via the almost random efforts to commercialise consumer products in the evil eighties that all of the world is still reeling from.

Nooooo. This is for you and that is completely fair and well put - but it's not at all a sensible driving principle in society. What you did was have a little private american dream going and thats fine, for what that is but you are way smarter than taking on that principle anywhere else in society, I bet
it's pretty funny that you have that bit of dress communism in british schools though, but I bet it does have relevance still with the sort of class divide going down... but what did you think of it back in school?

I'm a socialist when it comes to base living standards - I think everyone has a right to a living wage, shelter, education, medicine etc; but I think when it comes to toys (and a supercar is a toy, nothing more) it's down to the individual to be as interested or disinterested as they want. I don't have anything against people saying they don't give a fuck about material possessions or even for thinking I'm a shallow dickhead for lusting after cars, but that's very different to being the sort of person that
actively damages other people's possessions out of spite.
I *love* cars. I've loved driving things ever since I first played Pole Position on my Atari 2600 as a 5 year old and so one of my life goals has always been to have the best car I can. I don't currently own one at all because I don't need one and I can't afford one to keep
just as a toy, but if I won the lottery on Saturday I'd buy a supercar instantly. Way before I thought about getting a big house or going on a fancy holiday.
But all I was saying about the cock-drawer was that it's the
jealousy and spite that's negative. If you're the sort of person that lusts after toys, go and earn some toys... don't spoil other people's fun just because they've achieved one of your dreams. If you're not the sort of person that lusts after fast cars, I very much doubt you'd find the energy to vandalise one... the cock-drawer clearly loved the shit out of that Bugatti and threw a toddler-tantrum over not being able to afford one.

Also, I don't think that it should take them down a notch, but I think the fact that it does justifies it.

Exactly what I said innit -- sort of a private american dream there and it's cool to actually like stuff - but you understand the build and the quality and stuff like that I bet, and that is not what highpriced cars are aimed at exclusively anymore unfortunately. They are more just expensive for the sake of projecting that image if we take it a face value. . obviously quality is costy..
I'm a shallow dickhead for lusting after cars, but that's very different to being the sort of person that actively damages other people's possessions out of spite.
fair point..

Very good point. I'd argue that owning an ultra super car though, is sort of a provocative spectacle to anyone with the level of empathy that I'd want from people. And i don't think it is 'clear' tbh.
