I was told by a helpful guy over in the Swamp81 thread that Mercy by Joy O & Boddika counts as techno. If so, what stuff in a similar vein is there? Stuff with sharp, tactful use of percussion and snares, as well as a dark vibe, like that tune.
big ups

Quite a specific style, but that's what makes it interesting.
Blawan is very similar of course.
Another track (and producer) that comes to mind is Psyk.
Bit more repetitive maybe, but that's techno.
That Vogel track is all over

objekt002 and his hessle release
akkord both self titled and release on houndstooth
indigo ep on hypercolour
eleven8 release on EMF
all very tight with insane attention for detail with percussion stuff, but more based around 'bass music' (lol).
forward strategy groups LP on perc trax is worth checking out too

i dont think you can draw many comparisons to what blawans doing now and joy o.... bohla and a few other older bits maybe
tbh you will be disappointed if you think joy o and boddika are an accurate representation of techno, best off listening to hessle audio shows they've got that crossover sound nailed down better than anyone else atm

True, but a lot of Blawans tracks do have that distinct percussion and dark atmosphere.

Cheers everyone for being mad helpful. I kinda figured joy & boddika weren't at the center of techno sonically.
I really should get proper into Hessle releases, only really heard Dance Til The Police Come which is a and a half.
