I watched this not too long back, either. First time I've seen it, and it blew me away. The concept of just this black rectangle thing just *appearing* really freaked me the fuck out. The film actually fucked with my sub-concious. It
scared me.
Considered watching S. Darko the other day, luckliy my senses prevailed.

I finally watched snakes on a Plane last night. Two things:
1) Snake bite to the cock is not the one.
2) Very shit, but required viewing.

its hard to even talk about 2001 because its so special.
i reserve it for key times. cant wait to go through it again once i get a bunch of shit sorted. every once in a while ill just listen to the audio of the second half of the film. the sound alone is probably the finest noise piece ever made.

One of my favorites. I love Wes Anderson films. You seen any of his others (Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket)?

only Darjeeling Limited (also liked it a lot), saw that before The Life Aquatic. didnt know it was the same director but i can definatly see the similar style in the two now.
