That was in relation to you arguing that he didn't write the script to jackie brown, showing you he can do both.
The point is we all have a favourite of his and don't even rate each other choices.
I feel Django is his best film by far and don't really rate kill bill or jackie brown which is sort of funny. But thats often the case with someone this popular and polarizing.

I'm a big QT fan, but to say he is only borrowing is pushing it a bit. I don't think a single part of Reservoir Dogs is original except for the dialogue, it's all cobbled from somewhere else.
It's City On Fire
Kill Bill lifts a scene directly from one of the Lone Wolf And Cub movies, lots of stuff is blatantly based on Lady Snowblood in it too, dialogue is copied from Death Trap and then pretty much everything else is stolen from Master Of The Flying Guillotine, King Boxer, one of the old Zatoichi films and a bunch of others. To the point he even includes music from Master Of The Flying Guillotine during the bit in Kill Bill that is ripping it off like some fucking wink wink nudge nudge thing to movie nerds.
I wouldn't mind him cutting and pasting everything together from other movies but the guy denies it or acts like a smug prick about it.

The comparison video from that years post-Cannes kerfuffle highlights the similarities;
RD's difference being that Tarantino opted to not shoot the most expensive bit, the robbery itself, instead leaving White to narrate it shot for shot against how it happens in COF.
Even the radio narrative is borrowed heavily from The Warriors.

@ wolf
It's a really akward film with some great bits. Like the beginning of the film, it's so dope.
I see him like Rza or someone like that who also get's a lot of credit.
But i prefer what Rza samples to his own work.
I wouldn't mind him cutting and pasting everything together from other movies but the guy denies it or acts like a smug prick about it.
ahh ok I see, that's not on ofcourse. I haven't noticed that because I hate seeing him in interviews. Actually I hate most behind the scenes stuff. But I wouldn't blame Rza if he did the same thing.

I dunno, Kill Bill feels like a tacky culturally confused movie and the thing is most people will know old RZA beats are samples but a good amount of people who enjoy Kill Bill assume it to be original when in reality it feels more like someone raiding my dvd and vhs collections.
There's not much Tarantino I like to be honest. I also find it funny when he talks about how he couldn't cut any of Death Proof because it was literally too good while also claiming he was making a grindhouse film with it. If that film had been showed somewhere like 42nd street back in the grindhouse days it would have faded into obscurity for being too boring.

The only true Grindhouse film that came out of that series was Hobo With A Shotgun. The others were just pale imitations.
