I know it's not technically a movie, but I've been addicted to the show Psych lately. Such a hilarious show...

ending to Vertigo is always interesting with a bunch of m8s, always gets a mixed reaction (I loved it)

Masterpiece. The fact that a 1931 movie is still so relevant today speaks for itself. The kangaroo court scene, when Beckert turns on the jury and and compares their own crimes with his, that's Lang's genius at work.

Good Vibrations
I liked the way it shows Terry Hooley "getting" punk
and his disdain for money.

Finally got around to watching Russian Ark. Certainly a fresh approach and makes me interested in checking out more of Sokurov's stuff. Also got some beautiful cinematography. But I did feel that I would have appreciated it more fully if I'd had a better idea of Russian history.

The Raid 2
Pro: Action scenes are Michael Mann-level of madness. I thought they couldn't top the first one but then they put in everything it was lacking, wide space fights and car chases included. Cinematography is quality, some moments cracked me up (actually using the baseball with the bat ? How insane is that !) and the gore is present but not needlessly, it just comes with the flow of the fights and they don't show gore for the sake of it (Most of the time you'll just have a glimpse before it cuts to another fight). Really masterful.
Con: The plot It's pretty much a copy-paste of all those good korean thrillers but brings nothing really new to the table.
Had they not made Andi and Prakoso such disposable characters
it would've been much better and they would've had the action movie of the decade.
But I really don't understand why it bombed. It's still better than all those Liam Neeson thrillers...

Safety not Guaranteed
Kind of cheesy (Jake Johnson calling people 'kiddo'), but still worth watching. Great cast, some jokes kind of come out of nowhere, which is fun.

Finally saw the Godzilla reboot.
Though truer to the original in all aspects, I still found it a bitterly disappointing summer blockbuster. The acting by all involved is stale at best, the action scenes are (bar a few exceptions) too dark. The famous scene from the trailer with the Halo drop was also completely out of context in the movie: no other scene was so sinister.
Elizabeth Olson looked pretty hot...the creatures looked good but didn't really play enough part of the movie. Some scenes were completely superfluous (the whole train thing...).
I think they could have done so much more with this. Pretty bland showing.
4/10

Oh yeah, you are right. Felt like they had to wrap it up in 5 days of shooting.
Plus you can't end on
