OH YEAH?
how come I only found eight 12"s I want which I don't already own in the 20 pages of Chemical's dubstep releases?
That's fewer than 0.5 good new releases per page.
That's because you're not looking hard enough. Don't limit yourself to just 1 or 2 sources when finding new tunes. Its an easy habit to fall into, but there are new sources for tunes being created just about as fast as the new tunes themselves.
And,

I doubt it. That doesn't really make sense. Perhaps you are grouping production skills in with general creativity. Skills can be taught but creativity cannot. I can't argue that you might have very creative friends but nobody works their ass off to make a perfectly-produced tune and then just sit on it.
If I'm wrong, I'd like very much to hear a sample of something that would prove me wrong because I am interested to know what the hell you're talking about.

I like to think Kryptic Minds have bridged the gap between tearout and spacey sub bass stuff. I've heard all kinds of producers and DJs dropping their tracks.
Speaking of bass, it does annoy me when people say 'where's the bass?' on a track riddled with sub-bass, just because their laptop speakers aren't capable of playing it out, but I can't be bothered to go in to a bitchtastic rant about it.

he is paranoid of tunes getting leaked...has around 40 good tunes that hes never 100% satisfied with...they aren't a million miles from what kryptic minds are doing but the funny thing is he was doing it before they were even know to be making dubstep...
I would love to send you a snippet but he would kill me if it got around...
erykah badu said once that there are 3 times of musicians..
1. the throwaway ten a penny lowest common denominator do whatever a label tells you type (they dont last that long)
2. the tortured souls that more often than not you don't hear about as they are too real & troubled perhaps to make it in this game
3. the people that can do the best impression of number 2 have all the money...
maybe doesnt necessarily apply to dubstep but part of it does...
If you really believe that anybody with musical talent has the ability to whore themselves and their tunes then i think you're wrong...
he's going to try and get them out next year he says....money will be the last ting motivating him...he hates the idea of DJing so thats the biggest earner out of the window...

Since when does making music for a living, putting your music out there, having music as a career constitute whoring yourself out? That'd be my dream. Whatever, goodluck to 'em.

Word, I agree with this to some extent.

That's the thing about these "tortured genius" types. They claim to be really hot shit but the world troubles them so much that the public oft never finds out if they were telling the truth or not.
If your friend is the Nick Drake or Ian Curtis of dubstep then tell him he needs to at least have 1 album out or nobody will ever know his talents, and in the end, its just the same as having never bothered to make the music in the first place.

he doesn't claim to be anything...and someone being hot shit does't necessarily mean they will become huge...gravious is hot shit but massively underappreciated...
He's not a tortured genius either...just a perfectionist..
I've been listening to dubstep for some time and heard whats out there and trust me he is well up there production wise...it's not about creativity as was stated earlier...he knows how to eq very well and his drums are more interesting than most as well....I have actually heard most of his tunes and i'm telling you successful or not he is incredible...and not everyone makes music so they can get a record out...sorry thats ridiculous...music is a part of many cultures that don't have the ability to record and it' the playing/making that makes it worthwhile

Very curious about his tunes now ...
Don't like all that bashing at people who make a living out of dj'ing and/or producing anyway.
Can't argue that there are a lot of untalented and fake people out there but your judgement is a bit too harsh and easy.

I wasn't bashing djs btw...i have no issue with it at all and it's good fun..
I took exception to the most successful producers being the best producers point though...for me RSD is ever so slightly better than borgore lol...and who has had the more success?

RSD isn't as big as borgore!
ask the most cash rich audience (middle class teenagers wearing n-dubz hats) who RSD is and then ask them who borgore is!
he hasnt got an album out but albums make fuck all money anyway unless you're burial..RSD probably hasn't sold much more than 1000 cds despite how fucking amazing good energy is...and borgore has had a US tour....he's way bigger

RSD = 1 half of Smithy and Mighty who have probly sold more than anyone in dubstep.
Back on topic though, I whole heartedly agree with the original poster, this music has come on leaps and bounds and continues to do so.
HERE'S TO AN EVEN BIGGER 2010 FOR DUBSTEP!

Haha, mate, you know you'll never have to argue this point with me as I agree with you 1000% percent here. I'm just saying, if nobody hears your friends music and it really is that good, its a shame. That's about it I guess.
