Although it's not Dubstep, I'd still like some feedback on it. As it's more trip hop-y I wouldn't feel comfortable throwing it on the Dubs board.. But yeah.

Soundcloud

Lemme know what works and what doesn't ^_^ I lost the file before I could mix it down properly so some volumes are a bit off, subs too loud etc.

I like this track, it's quite IDM. I really like the synth work, it's quite admirable actually. The bass melodies fit in nicely with the track also. I find the drum work fits well but it lacks a bit. Arrangement is good, but I can't but think it's just an experimental track that is not going to be finished. I wouldn't linger over this track.

I'm not really keen on this track mainly because of the arrangement. From the drop up until the 2:50 mark it sounds like you've copy and pasted the last 8 bars, there's no change with the 4th, 8th or even 16th bar. There really needs to be variety. And progression is definitely a key ingredient. The synthwork is really nice, it would have been nicer to hear it progress. I not keen on the delayed rimshot, it makes it sound pretty messy IMO. The mixdown is pretty good, the bass could do with a notch up of 2dB or a touch more than that. If you haven't already, try fiddling with a muliband compressor.

It's a good track, but I'm really not keen on that vocal. It could have done with a bit more length, and it could have progressed nicely with all the synths coming in. You have so many delicate melodies and synth, why not show them off a bit? instead of keeping them in the shadows of other synths. The mix sounds really nice, punchy kick, snappy rim shot, and nice low end. Everything sits nicely, just needs better arrangement IMO.

My latest track is a tech house thing, inspired by bodzin, romboy, holden, extrawelt etc but with a hard edged twist.

Shit dude this track is getting bigger and bigger! you've got yourself an extra fan :p. The wobble coming in at around 1.40 seems to be a bit out of sync at some times?

keep on delivering

ravey stuff you got going on there. Put a 4x4 beat under it and it should fit in well in a Blade movie :) .

Like the drums in this one, except for the distorted snare that's in the intro and a bit further in the track. Main bass could use some variation imo. It stays mostly the same throughout the track (i mean the 'sound' of the bass).

vocal is dope tho'

big up

New track, pretty much completely done. Going for maximum euphoria, so hopefully this is a little different from what you're used to. As always, C & C are welcome and returned, and big ups to anyone who takes the time to comment.

Nice flow over whole the track, the piece where the bass alone is playing is phat.

the lead in the intro sounds too distorted too me, the drums in the beginning of the tune are a bit 'pushed back' by the lead.
maybe alter the volumes of those two and a bit less disto on that synth.

cheerz

@NeonOrdnance - As with other comments I feel that the opening lead is to strong and pushes the lows too far to the back of the mix, good overall track, just some rearrangement of volume, and that sine bass for me tends to pop here and there, a slight attack would solve that.

@mistayif - Good choice of sounds but my only criticism is that it gets rather drone-like, stick a break somewhere in that two minutes of bass.

I reworked my earlier song Sentinel, stronger sounds and a little mixup at the end of the song. Also downloadable.

Enjoy

Good tunage 8) I tink it needs a lil filler in the lead synth but other than that its pretty damn fresshh!!!!

Cheers man, didn't even notice there was a new thread for March; I haven't been watching DSF that much recently so I haven't critiqued anyone else's work but thanks for giving me the time [:
