I'd rank Toasty as probably the best songwriter in dubstep. He does some incredible things with some very simple tricks. I'm not even saying that the dude's production aren't tight, cuz like everything he does IS tight as fuck, but it's those build ups, melodies, basslines, breakdowns.. etc that do it for me. It's all about timing and writin' a good melody. Annnd 'The Knowledge' has like the best drums ever.

I'm not one to particularly show over the top levels of care for production value, but I've always thought that Silkie - The Horizon is one of the best produced pieces of music I've ever heard. Serious talent behind that.

when ever I listen to Vex'd - Fire all the way through, i generally think, well that was a perfect track wasn't it.. thats the first track which comes into my head in relation to the thread title

no hate at all but i always thought vex'd tunes sounded a tad messy
never heard a vex'd tune on a system though so i'll refrain from writing them off till then

i always think silkie's productions are top quality, consistently great
