soldiers don't get paid much.... you have to take into account the malicious intent of wikileaks. They purposely sought out a low level soldier who was young and impressionable, they knew his paygrade and permission, and purposely sought to use him knowing good and well when they published the articles he would be the scape goat.
If wikileaks were true champions of truth they'd willingly confront the governments after them as they would feel that this is public knowledge and that they had done nothing wrong.
Truth is wikileaks is an oportunistic venture based off of the iraqi war and surrounding events.... and if there wasn't money to be made they wouldn't have done it.
I'm not out to get this guy, just not buying his beacon of truth stance. He made a buck off an easy target

assange really is just the public figurehead for a group whose motivations i really question

ex air force here.... i just dont see the glory in bribing an e-4. (also don't see why a 22 year old had TS-3 clearance but that's another story)
i just get the impression wikileaks would have cut any number of throats to build their name.

since when did scare tactics stop anything?
since when did imprisonment stop anything?
the more martyrs there are... the more it becomes a revolution!
WHO IS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH??
why is transparency such a bad thing?

I fail to see where exactly the money is being made. Donations? Wikileaks ain't exactly doin' so well these days.

most media outlets pay for appearances... fairly certain a book by mr j would sell a couple million copies, data mining from email lists/traffic info, plenty of ways to make money off websites without banners.

yup take a look at who was hosting them in the past, that and concerns over their paypal being shut down/frozen
there's a bit more than transparency and just exposing info going on like they lead on

Fair enough. But why are you so certain that money is the primary goal behind this operation. Wikileaks was around long before the Manning/War Log stuff which got all this media attention. Where is the money to be made in the Somalia and Australia leaks?

pkay, ya know there doesn't have to be a money making scheme behind everything!
sometimes the truth is more important than anything else.
we don't even know how many people are behind wikileaks, they get donations to run the show & do what they can
in our age of enlightenment!
I don't know many people who don't support wikileaks... if ya don't, explain why not!
truth, honesty, justice.... ya can't have one without the other!!
