Millenium Music Hall is clossing down with pretty much imediate effect

Meaning that FWD>> Vs Rinse has been cancelled this Sunday and lots of other events.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-sout ... s-13547994 <<Check the news report, actually says in it that Sunday is cancelled.

Another venue bites the dust, Marco Carola and Friends was there in a few weeks aswell, thats what im mostly gutted about, you dont get to see a DJ like that every day, especially in Cardiff :(
BBC News
"We have had to completely cancel our bank holiday party on Sunday but have managed to re-arrange the others thanks only to the compassion shown from other venues who were willing to move other events around to accommodate us.

"As Cardiff is not a city spoilt for choice for larger live gig venues, it is a real disappointment and we now have to seriously consider how we'll continue to provide the same high spec shows like we have done at the Millennium Music Hall."

No-one at the venue was available for comment, but a statement on its website said: "We are currently re-scheduling some of our events in June.

"This is due to issues relating to a planned move of premises. All tickets purchased will remain valid for any re-scheduled events."

Heard about the cancellation. Didn't realise the venue was closing. Been to a few decent gigs in there :(

NOOOOOO!!! does this mean the Crosstown Rebels takeover won't happen? I hope not :(

Edit; just read
but have managed to re-arrange the others thanks only to the compassion shown from other venues who were willing to move other events around to accommodate us.

WBEEZA killed it at City Bass. Really good turn out aswell. Can safely say its the best night i've been to in the CIA

George Fitzgerald killed it at the last Obey aswell. Really good turn out there aswell.

I can confirm that there is deffintely a new club opening. I have been contacted and asked if i want to be one of there residents, offering weekly work. I dont know any more until i meet them for a chat and to run through things so will post as soon as I know, Fingers Crossed it will be the start of something new. Much needed in cardiff imo

Charity fundraiser with bumping tunes on the CAI's funktion 1 anyone?
Should be awesome. Charity mini festival thing in cardiff this sunday called Safe as Sound. Raising money for Safer Wales, its one night with live music and DJ's in buffalo bar (including my lass's band - alphabet backwards...who are for all intents and purposes, very amusing) then a DJ lineup at the Cardiff Arts Institute with all sorts of local homegrown bass factories such as Joe Bloe, the king regards, soul smoke sessions...and myself! Im over the moon stoked, funktion 1 rig + the most bumping selection of tunes ive ever had. Awesome.

So yeah, only a few quid for each venue or 7 I think for both. Will be most entertaining. Tempted to offer money to anyone who has the ability to stand still throughout my set...

Hopefully turnout is better than that of Kode 9. Dubstep isn't doing well around the Diff atm :(

I'm glad the turnout was good. Need more Dubstep in the diff though and crowds to pick up (for this to happen)!

Yeah I was shocked at the turnout. Thought it was gonna be half full. There were enough people in there when Darkhouse Fam were on (who absolutely merked it), but it proper filled out about midnight.
Was good seeing massive crowd reactions to all the hip-hop, garage and house that was being dropped. It's not what you really expect in Cardiff :w:

ANDY MAC (Punch Drunk)Recently signed to bristols “Punch Drunk” label which is owned by the big man himself Peverelist. His first release Everytime/Asteroid Belts came out May 2011 and has been getting played all over the place since. Expect smooth house vibes, with the bass weight to knock your socks off!

It's that time again.. Obey! is back again with another sick line up of musical treats from across the Bass music world! Following on from our hugely successful last event with Andy Mac and Orphan101 we bring you the best in carnival vibes on the opening night of Cardiff's Big Weekend.

Image

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For this event, we bring you a Steak House Records showcase... come Boomtown Fair warmup party. Steak House is Bristol based record label which releases Global Garage, Carnival Beats and Tropical House and run by one of the founders of Bristol's premier Bass Music night Ruffneck Diskotek.

MONKEY STEAK (Steak House | Punch Drunk | Idle Hands)

Monkey Steak is comprised of members Atki2 and Hanuman. The pair have been around since the start of the dubstep movement and constantly pushing the boundries of the UK sound. Respected by many of the Bass Music scenes heavy weights (such as Starkey, Pinch, Cardopusher, Murderbot and RSD to name a few..) they are starting to make big waves on the UK Bass scene with appearances at Underhill Festival, Boomtown, Alfresco Disco and Boom Festival bringing their trademark tropical sound to the greater public.

DUB BOY (Steak House | Ruffneck Diskotek | Idle Hands)

Bristols Dub Boy is a DJ, producer & promoter of the Ruffnek Diskotek, Monster Bass & Karnival events. Reknowned right across the UK as one of the best reggae and bashment selector on the isle. You'll probably have caught him playing at a huge number of places including but not limited to Outlook Festival, Glade and St Pauls Carnival....
Put best in his own words "I make girls shake their bums"
