8/10 so far. Worth the money. The stealth is really good. Environments are nice so far but not quite on the same level as DX1 so far if I'm honest. I much preferred New York to Detroit, and I didn't really like the first bit of this game, thought it was a bit predictable/lame and there wasn't enough backstory. Already, I'm not as eager to play through it again as I was with the first game, but I think I'm on the cusp of a big development in the story so maybe things are about to step up a notch.

Same here. I can never remember what card I've got but its not amazing. DX3 is probably the best looking game I've played on it yet though, I am really impressed. I didn't expect it to look or play anywhere near as good as it does! Unreal Engine comes through again :Q:

Couple of beefs: the inventory and map are worse than the original game, properly clunky. You can't use the keyboard to navigate the map, or the hacking mini-game, which is a tad annoying to me. I love the takedown system but I hope there are melee weapons. A sword would be dope, and its a shame you can't pick up a baseball bat and cave some guard's head in. A bit of gore would've been a nice touch actually.

It's like Robocop b2b Metal Gear Solid b2b The Matrix b2b Fallout b2b some old-school point-and-click - go get it!

Also, I'm a big fan of Eurostile (the font) but they really have overdosed on it in this game, its ridiculous :lol:

I can't make my mind up if it isn't as good as the first one, or if the first one only seemed special because that genre was still very new. But either way you have to judge it on your first experience of the game and for that the first one wins (in someways...). The second one is awesome though, the voice acting is atrocious in places - hard not to laugh. The controls for the PC still feel a bit ill thought out, that's probably just me; used to playing BF3a and BC2 far too much!

The inventory thing..... jesus, I can't believe they have that. I saw that block inventory set up in the very first computer games to feature graphics, I don't want to see it in a game in 2011. That's my biggest annoyance with the game and it's a minor thing.

Other than that..... game is awesome, love the thought that has gone into the story and the paths you can choose. I also love all the background scene building that was done on youtube prelaunch (they're posted on a couple of pages back), serifindustries.com and purity first viral videos. Dunno, even though it isn't a true sandbox game it's still very open and free flowing, none of that corridor shooting CoD shite.

I've taken a break from playing it until I have a few days off. Got loads to do out in the 'real world' and can't be done sitting playing this until 4am each day :mrgreen:

Nah it's not just you, I'm on PC too (Steam version, playing offline) and the controls are clunky as a motherfucker. You can tell the game's been ported from console. Mouse response in the inventory and map is WANK. They need way more keyboard shortcuts too.

I hooked up a PS2 pad and some 360 pad emulation software thinking it would improve the controls, and it definitely did until I found a nasty bug. It was great playing the game with a controller, but when you use the mouse/keyboard for certain things, then switch back to the controller, the controls will go nuts and jam up. They should've caught that in early testing really :roll:

Story and gameplay is great so far though. Pacing of the story is done well.

Game is brillaint...I am not. Playing the Xbox version (dunno how different to the PC version that is....)...fun finding out little parts etc....but I get scared stealthing around places not knowing where I'm going...

You'll find me cowering in an air vent for 30 minutes at a time plucking up the courage to step out...
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

I swear I played the entire game with my finger hovering over F5 (quicksave), especially since I did the hardest difficulty on my first playthrough and wanted to get 100% completion. I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough, now on normal but trying to get 100% ghost for the entire game. It's ROUGH.

im doing it the other way around..
On my 2nd now with hardest difficulty on, i went through the game sparing alot of people in my first playthrough while not utilizing all the awesome deadly weapons there are on offer so this time round im going a bit more nuts.
On my first playthrough i wouldn't even play on if i was caught i'd just load up my most recent save.

Just finished it, possibly better then original. But the original was so original when it came out that makes it better. I chose the Sariff ending.

Taking my time with this. Just killed Barrett. Bit easy of a fight. 5 shots with sniper rifle, and one cannister explosion, laser moded machine pistol to the dome till dead.

Loving the story so far. Honestly the action sequences are what I expect of a metal gear game on this gen.

Used the xbox controller on my pc for a bit but then switched to keyboard/mouse. Cover is a lot easier with xbox but aim is a lot easier with pc setup. Due to headshots being so accurate i find myself not using the cover as much as just physically using cover and duck.

Diggin it so far... some of the alarms are annoying considering it will pull the entire zone.... outside that great game through boss#1

I hope so. It seems to me like they wrote the "player must go to these locations/see these things" script first, then kind of made the game fit in around it. The last 3 hours of gameplay has been drrrrrrrrry! The original DX's plot/script seemed to unfold a lot more naturally.

the boss fights are ridiculous on hard.

the bitch in montreal raped me for a good while today

back in riot filled detroit just did the sequence with taggert at the convention center. what a tnuc

I've tried many times to kill serif but cannot. typhoons, etc nothing kills this fuck.

I will admit that outside of the Hive sequences in China, that whole level is boring as fuck.

pretty great so far.... have dead island waiting for me after this, and by then rage will be out. good gamings equence.

Played it at my mates (on PC) while I am waiting for my new graphics card.

Thought it was pretty clunky and difficult to get in a good flow - deffo a console to PC port; it feels very console-esque.

It works a lot better with the joy stick which is ridiculous..Who can use joy sticks to aim? Need a mouse, yo!



Not a fan, gunna skip it I think.
