shit's non-tonal. atonality is something different. Anton Webern, Alban Berg. Arnold Schoenberg. late Stravinsky. look these guys up. 12-tone technique, pitch-class set theory, etc.
it would behoove you to know what you're talking about with regard to theory - but that's a digression to say the least.

just read most of this. kind of wish i hadn't. there are definitely examples of community spirit being lost in this thread.
as for the flylo comment, who cares? it's all about the music not the person that makes it.
i'm still gonna listen to flylo regardless of any comment he makes. they're are a lot of prickish musicians out there, you may hate them personally but for that to be an excuse to not listen to their music, nah way.

You can't tell too much as to what sort of a person a musician/producer/dj is from inet chat or an interview anyway, some ppl you would think were sound actually turn out to be complete arseholes and vice versa

I think British and Northern European folks respond to darkness 'cause it is so fucking cold and depressing round here most of the time. It's why I just can't get into funky - it feels kinda sarcastic to me coming outta this country.

I love flying lotus, but I don't think he really understands how much of a community this place really is.
Every aspect of an emerging scene is expressed here, it's a sort of critic's layer, a haven to criticize, nitpick the sour stuff.
But what the fuck do I know, I think the James Blake album is way overrated (but thats a different thread)
