What, at the West Indian? Never remember that happening... Pendulum made the roof fall down in the uni once though
I wouldn'r be suprised. The West Indian centre was dodge. :a:

Yeah but at least it was built right for sound, Iration played that place like a speaker in itself

DMZ leeds nights were (and still are) great: the atmosphere and people friendly and respectful, the iration sound system made the room like a pressure chamber, total chest boxing, and the line ups heavyweight everytime. This set reminds me of that.

They`re called Exodus after Simon Scott`s DJ monicker, but basically they are DMZ up north

Did you go to the first few where loads of Londoners came on coaches? It was kind of weird having loads of random southeners wondering about but made it kind of cool because they brought a different vibe (except the guy getting shirty with me drinking the minerals out of his mineral water :? )

Yeah I remember when they played the first one in the second room of transmission with shy fx in the main, every other person a spoke to had a southern accent it was mental. I think it was november 2006. Loefah and mala went back to back and shattered got pulled about six times! When I loefah remix dropped EVERYONE in the room was bouncing! sgt pokes shouted something like 'time to work off some calories leeds'. ha good times.

is exodus in leeds still a good vibe?

Still a good vibe yeah, although quite a few people I've spoken to have said that it's not the same as at the west indian centre, which is natural: of course it can't have the same vibe it's not the same place. The differences seem to be the bouncers are now some corporate firm (mandatory with the venue) so they're no way as sound and up for a laugh as the bouncers were at the west indian. Also seems like theres a lot more youngsters and students (not a bad thing it's just the crowd
was more varied before) but I would say that I'm a giffer now :4:
The venue lacks the same character as the windian however it still feels like a DMZ night. I'm bound to be nostalgic of early(ish) nights because it seemed inclusive, like you'd found something familiar but at the same time totally fresh. Kinda felt like a ritual or something, each set having a different feel to it. Especially when anti social started doing the last hours of a few of the nights in a row(lie 4am or 5am), like they brought a totally fresh, easy, open, skanking vibe, almost tropical or something. you could do what you like: stand there and chill or get on your one foot. The leeds dmz dub mechanics set last year (I think) at the vox reminded me of that, every tune a dubby roller. It's difficult to explain but it just seemed like all the DJs were just jamming and everything just flowed natural from that.might be spouting but thats some of what I remember, for what it's worth. :i:

It still is Exodus, it always was, but different venue (Vox Warehouse now yeah?)

They actually played dubstep at Subdub for the first time in August 2006.. that was a fucking wild night, for a variety of reasons.

I miss the Leeds scene :(

Fuck knows but Tribe Records in town might be able to tell you.

Subdub`s got Kryptic Minds and Youngsta on though, next best thing: http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=264778

Exodus goes from being a regular thing to a `special` thing, it seems. I`ve never been to a bad one though so I don`t care as long as I get in...

think i'm in leeds on wednesday so i'll go in and ask then

you reckon there's any chance of subdub moving back to the west indian centre? seen they've had a couple nights there over the last few months, cyrus and core are playing next month
