I'm guessing that it's because he thinks he did something intelligent with his own username and is merely trying to draw attention to it. Kind of ironic really given the username mindCornbreadddd wrote:What a cretinous thing to say.....

It's ridiculous how good it is. I've played this through 4 times in a little over a day I love the fact it's a proper album but one that never forgets it's dance music. Every track has something to really enjoy. Right to the top of my 2011 list and there's been some fantastic stuff released this year.fractal wrote:some of the best 140 i've heard this year

All about Turn for me.
The vocals are too much. Almost has a prog-rock feel, but that probably wasnt the intent......

Re: Author LP (Tectonic) INFO
Dear Jack Sparrow and Ruckspin,
I'm so much of a fan of this album that it's almost creepy. I've been obsessing over it ever since I heard all the tracks on juno. The sound is so refreshing and the tunes actually sound like fully composed songs. As I've stated before, this album played first track to last, takes you through a journey, and you can picture whatever kind of story that first comes to your mind with each song; as the songs progress, the story unfolds.
I really hope this doesn't sound stupid to you guys but this album is so visual for me to listen to. The first thing that came to my mind was a teenager going through the beginnings of a drug addiction,
- Turn was the the turn of events that occurred when the person starting using heavily, his life began to change and turn for the worst.
- Sun is a reckless period where a person he is using a lot and partying and going wild but the darkness is coming out of him and the addiction is growing, he is slowly leaving the experimental fun phase of drug use, a foreshadowing of darkness.
- Revolutions is where things get very dark and he begins to engage in shady activities like robbing, stealing from loved ones, and manipulating people; he has not yet realized the atrocity of his actions.
- Green & Blue is a period where he realize what he is doing to himself and the people around, he realizes the people he has hurt, the friends he has lost, and the loss of respect that he has acquired.
- Dashiki represents a decision. Should he become clean? Is he ready? He is still using and realizes the struggles that will come with attempting to become clean, the urges that he will have to deal with, and the withdrawals he will have to go through.
- Mothership is the insanity that he is temporarily faced with as he begins his trek to sobriety. His mind is racing, his body is feeling as it never has before, he cant think straight and his mind is moving at a million miles an hour.
- Fix represents a period where he feels he is becoming fixed. He is slowly getting back to normal, his withdrawal symptoms have subsided and he is slowly getting back into the groove of a normal drug free life.
- Drain is reflective period where he feels very confident in his sobriety and the direction of his life, he feels with great sorrow for his past and the things he has done and those who have been harmed in the process. He takes it upon himself to drain his present life of all of the prior harmful aspects, all of the drug using friends, all of the drug dealers, all of the bad influences are being drained out of his life to solidify his sobriety and to sustain a happy and normal life after such a treacherous nightmare.
Easily the best 140 album this year. I hope that didn't sound cheesy or cheeky, but it's just what I get out of it. Try it for yourself, album is beautiful.
