***************SPOILERS***************

i just beat it last night and i chose to destroy the repears using the crucible, followed by garrus, ashley and joker landing on some earth like planet, i dont understand how ashley and garrus made it back to the normandy though and nooone else did.

i guess all the choices destroy all the mass relays and if your readiness is high enough youll see the ending with Shepherd possibly alive in the pile of rubble.

ending was cool though, i know this is the end of the sheperd trilogy, but maybe me4 will include garrus and ashley... they should be coming out with that new epilouge DLC soon to expand upon the ending.

Apparently shepherd was indoctrinated and none of the ending was real.

Ya I heard that too. mKes sense causethe kid be keeps seeing in his dreams is in the end. But the "outcome" is real right? Joker and whoever ok tgat planet and the reapers being destroyed and the kid and man at the end? Isnt that all real? And if it was a dream how did it show him getting out from the rubble?

I thought that kid was Shepard, and it was all an allegory for the cyclical nature of the universe. Always protect your flock, in any event.

If he had been on the citadel, how did he end up in a pile of rubble back on earth? ;-)

Shepard being indoctrinated? Haven't heard that one before, can anyone provide a link/some elaboration?

I fully support the indoctrination theory after watching that video. Bioware are genius's. in the talk between TIM and Anderson. TIM represents your mind which Is already indoctrinated. But Anderson is your free will. Anderson: "he's controlling you". TIM : " you CAN control the reapers"

As cool as the Indoctrination idea is, the behind-the-scenes iPad app Bioware released showed that it's not true and the ending really is that dumb. Which is a shame, because the ending the fans came up with makes a lot more sense.

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic ... x/11154234 From what we can tell, the ending was rushed, and done without consulting ANY of the writers at all.

Also, what was intended to be the original ending http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/17 ... -3-endings

I wanted the indoctrination theory to be true so badly. The cut ending would have been so much better, we never actually did get to know the true origins and purpose of the reapers.

I wonder what the extended ending will shed light on...

I still hold that *any* explanation kills it though. We honestly don't need to know or care why the reapers are after us, I always thought it was better they remained an unknowable entity. If you google Patrick Weekes and looked through his conversations on the ending, he said that he would have basically ended it with the crucible killing all the reapers had he done it. No ridiculous star child sequence, no stupid RGB colour explosions.

(Patrick Weekes is one of the authors and wrote some of the best sequences in the game - e.g. Mordin's death. Easily one of the best writers for Mass Effect 3 yet did NOT have a clue about what the ending was going to be. Just shows how screwed up and rushed the whole thing was).

The dark energy ending wouldn't have happened anyway since the author behind that left Bioware.
