literally, this is one of the most informative threads on synthesis and massive on this whole forum, and up there with the reso tutorial, everyone should listen to the mp3 of him making the sound from scratch, so many things small things that matter in this, its like blowing my mind right now. My favorite part is when they wanna do the pitch control, and he was like, "oh, you just want to play with it?" really shows the difference, and why the ill artist put out great tracks, they dont get hung up on these "growl bass sound how to" things, they focus on arrangement and getting songs done. thanks to everyone who posted before me and to the person who posted the mp3! altho cant believe no one has a full recording across the internetz, wouldve loved to hear what kill the noise said also.

How could the same result of those three compressors in series be done with just one? Ive been trying and can't get close to the same sound, getting a lot of clicking

its not too important how many compressors you use, the idea was just to make the release a bit louder. you can do it with a limiter too, just tweak the attack and release settings until you don't get clicking.

So still no better video up than that one that's like 30 minutes?

No way man, putting 3 OTTs in line does way more than make the release louder. It brings up a lot of subtle tones that you otherwise wouldn't hear. Theres a "bottom" threshold in multiband dynamics that is doing upward compression by raising the gain of sounds below it. In OTT it's set to 4:1, so by only using one, I've been thinking 4*4*4 and setting the ratio to 66 (won't let me do 64 for whatever reason) I've been getting close to the result but still dont have the low end punch of using three in a row. Need to fiddle with it some more. :i:

Lol i literally don't have a clue what you're talking about. I got the concept he suggested working fine and played around with it for a while. Good luck with whatever you're trying to achieve tho.

I just listened to the audio clip that was posted and the sound Spor gets out of massive is ridiculous! Makes me wonder about the whole resampling thing when he can pump something like this straight out of Massive.

Resampling doesn't necessarily make something better.

Shit sound in = shitter sound out most probably.

Having said that resampling can yield awesome results.

I think this is pretty much the sound although when messing with the settings you can make it sound really cool and different by barely touching anything. Very sensitive settings. It is pretty cool though. I can upload the KSD is wanted

bear in mind, I had the two OTT Multibands in Ableton on the channel so youre gonna need to do the same or something to that equivalent to get a similar result. have fun
