Can Pm you a code tonight if you want to give the trail a run first? but that can be finished in a few hours and its pretty moreish!
Just need to kick the last bosses ass on nightmare to move onto Inferno.
Its mental as fuck when the enemys start shooting lazer beams, posion patches and making copys of themselves. I think we got stuck in a vicious death>revive>death> cycle for about 5mins at one point in act 4
Cant wait to have an enemy look at my funny at just explode.

Yeah PM me it and I'll give it a whirl before I buy it. That'd be grand.
Just been in town to see if I can pick it up, no luck...

The game's incredible and massively addictive (Lvl 30 Demon hunter now), but I do have quite a lot of gripes with it. The atmosphere from the first couple game's has been lost, possibly because of the port to true 3D. There's nothing really gory or terrifying that the first game was so big on. The whole point was being stuck in a hellish dungeon, on your own, miles from the closest civilisation, and now you've got some annoying companion following you around, and constant reassurance from everyone. Storyline's pretty whack too, compared to the first.
The item system is also pretty fucked with the auction house - it pretty much nullifies the enjoyment of random drops, because you can buy the best gear for next to nothing at the auction house anyway. It just seems like Blizzard have skipped out on the single player mechanics that were so entrancing in the first couple, in favour of PvP, just to line their pockets and boost longevity to the max. It just feels too much like WoW.
That said, by other game's standards, it's grade A. Maybe I was just expecting a bit too much.

WOW thank you, I felt like I was the only one who felt like the atmosphere and vibe has been completely lost. I guess all that shit goes right over most people's heads. The other games were VERY dark, Diablo 3 feels like it's a Disney movie or something in comparison. It's a combination of some gameplay aspects like you said, and visual choices they made in designing the game. The graphics feel like they're out of WoW...
Strongly agree with what you said about items as well.
And then there's still the fact that you're tied to their fucking servers for life...
Anyways, it's still a fun game, and I'm looking forward to beating it on Inferno some day

Just heard a mate's impression of the game, really put me off getting it (apart from the fact that you need an internet connection even to play solo, and that I won't have a connection for about 2 weeks). He said it was fairly repetitive, with loads of people just farming the first boss for loot and then twinking alts out. Bear in mind this was from someone who spent 4+ years in Everquest levelling about 8 characters to level 60 on exactly the same quests each time and has repeated the same pattern in every single MMO he's played since.
Might get it at some point, but not particularly rushed at the moment.
