I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Also, what's wrong with calling it zeldastep?
Whiny as in it's irritating to listen to. And zeldastep?! Reallly? Not every fucking type of song needs a sub genre, it's a dubstep (at a push) remix of a zelda song. Wtf is zeldastep...

Being a huge zelda fan, I find it very interesting and nostalgic. The production is ok, and some of the ideas he had were alright too. It's not top notch but to the average zelda fan who doesn't listen to dubstep it's the coolest thing around. If you look at it too hard as a producer I guess you would get annoyed, like how I rage whenever someone mentions how awesome metallica are...(I play tech metal).

Also, really? Calling it zeldastep is just a fun and quick way of saying 'dubstep remix of zelda songs'. It's by no means a sub genre.

Way to unknowingly (and ironically) flamebait, Sure_Fire. ;-)

I may be wrong but my take on the Zeldastep epithet is not that it's a genre based solely on Zelda re-f/m-ixes, but rather that there's a sound whose whole aesthetic is basically sonic vid-game nostalgia mashed onto dubstep beats.

Personally, although I like an 8-bit sound done well here or there, it's definitely not something listenable for more than a few minutes straight unless it's done really, really well... and that's usually the exception and not the rule.

O think its astonishing how many dubstep sub genres have emerged, such as zeldastep, mariostep, funkstep, discostep, the list goes on. I'm a huge zelda fan, but i don't really like that song, but at the same time i appreciate the suing for the simple fact that its zelda.

I'm not saying they're the greatest dubstep songs ever made, just a bit of cool nostalgia mixed with a genre of music I happen to like. I don't understand why some people have a problem with that. You're right though.

Musicians looking for musical outlets to fuel their need for a vast range of appreciated genres? Or something like that.

Thankyou grimsin for your opinionated yet civil and thought out response.

Really? Interesting how you felt compelled to contribute t this thread just to give me shit. Also my band is hardly shithouse, but you would probably be scared by all the real instruments and overly technical playing/song structure to listen for more than 2 minutes.

Another well though out and intelligent response. Anyway unless you want to comtribute something even remotely reletive to the thread topic then I'm actually not gonna bother. Feel free to give some more shit. I'd highly suggest closing this thread since everyone got severely off topic...myself included. My apologies.

I suppose your right. But abletons a bigger torrent so it doesn't get as many newbies wanting learn how to make wobbles in it. Dubstep can be made in garage band for christs sake.

Coming from a guy who knows every aspect of recording live bands, building and playing real instruments plus making both digital and analog eletronic compositions, zeldastep is shit and so is your signature song. You are a tech metal player and yet you make songs that are hardly dubstep and underproduced with no feeling. Learn from Lysergene and Distance, man.

Now waiting for the merge.
