Kode9's been a troll lately about playing new Burial material on the radio. Remember when Kindred came out, when they previewed a clip on Hyperdub's show I think, him and the other host talked the whole time over it.

well, i'm sure i'm not the only one who feels that most of what hyperdub releases of late just isn't up to par like it once was, so i don't blame him for keeping a tight grip on burial stuff. i respect that kode9 releases what he likes, but i don't think i've been genuinely excited about any of his releases lately except when it comes to burial ones.

I couldn't get into Cooly G or DVA's albums, i'm gonna have a re listen sometime in the future for sure though, considering I couldn't get into Untrue the first few times either.

so no 320 mp3 release? i quit my vinyl snobbery (and ran out of space to store it) ages ago, and 25 mins of music on a $9.00+import shipping CD seems ridiculous. burial's great but wtf?

I'm sure that it will be released on a digital format due to popular demand sometime in the future. It's not like this EP will be special like those Burial vs. Massive Attack tunes.

Oh, and vinyl rips. Vinyl rips :4: .

Where are people getting this idea from? ALL the Burial releases on Hyperdub have digital releases. See here, which I posted above, but has clearly been ignored: http://www.juno.co.uk/search/?q=Burial+ ... e=download

Why would this be any different?

all the marketing blurbs i've read for this only indicated "vinyl and CD" and i don't see any digital pre-sales going on anywhere. figured this was one of those "physical release" only sort of things. people in the music biz do stupid shit like that ie. w/ the massive attack/four tet collabos. i have money, i am willing to pay for digital releases. i'm sure a lot of other people feel the same way. just release 'em!

i dont get the problem with the newer hyperdub releases - cooly g, walton, some of the funkystepz stuff, hype williams - all good stuff IMO. the labels evolved and it doesn't cater for dubstep anymore which really is the same as hotflush. both labels are still putting out killer material though

also can't wait for this burial release, i've always liked his stuff but recent listening has given me a newfound appreciation. the kindred ep is sooo good so i hope it's in a similar vein. judging from the song lengths it probably will be :D can't decide whether to get the vinyl or the cd tho...

Hotflush wasn't too good this year either though imho.

- Sigha
- Recondite (DRGN / Wist 365)
- Sepalcure (though technically a re-issue) = January
- Scuba (only The Hope / Flash Addict did it for me) = January
- Locked Groove (Rooted EP) => January

that's meagre compared to what percentage of Hotflush output I liked last year tbh. Same goes for the HDB. But I'm not complaining though, good that they keep on carving out their own style. And for every 'fan' lost, I'm sure they'll have gained one this year.

Will listen to the previews, doubt I'll like this enough to buy. The length of the tunes puts me off tbh, I think all the best Burial tunes are the ones that are 4-6 mins long
