Top Gear hate any 4x4 that's not a Range Rover* tbh and they've got a massive chip on their shoulder about American cars...
*well, apart from the RR Sport, which they hate perfectly reasonably.

I don't agree with Clarkson on much, but I can't argue with what he says about American cars or 911s

Good. Not in much these days on the recovering ninjaholic basis that you might think you're "just dropping in to check out the classic jungle thread" but in reality you'll regain consciousness 15 hours later realizing that you just wasted a day arguing with Parson about whatever bollocks he saw on youtube this week or something.sd5 wrote:sloptroth

Well, that all depends on the type of racing you're doing, I suppose. Lots of straight lines and none too many roundabouts in the US... drag racing is a much bigger part of the culture than over here. They even like their Pro tracks to have as few bends as possible!Nevalo wrote:magma wrote:Top Gear hate any 4x4 that's not a Range Rover* tbh and they've got a massive chip on their shoulder about American cars...

I'd still love to run a proper muscle car in the UK, but I have a feeling the petrol bills would bankrupt me. Asian efficiency or German mechanical perfection is the way forward.

Look at the stats, german cars are very unreliable, antidotally I see them on the side of the road ALL the time. Also, my pops drove a Mercedes sports car for a few years, and the thing would BURN over a quart of oil a month. That's just insane. Ultimately talked the dealer into taking the car back, he bought a civic si and would grin from ear to ear. That civic would just DESTROY the road.magma wrote:German mechanical perfection is the way forward.
Re: Whats Your Realistically Priced Dream Car?

always had a weak spot for saabs.. thought i'd post some old school 900 turbo or something but ended up posting a newer model.

and yeah, german cars tend to have more problems than for example japanese cars (check autobild stats), which are undeniably the best. toyota, honda, mazda, mitsubishi, you can't go wrong with them.

Re: Whats Your Realistically Priced Dream Car?

Overpriced but still moderately priced.
Re: Whats Your Realistically Priced Dream Car?
Ford does not sell cars like that in the states.
