Probably saving face and trying to be hip. I think I read an interview where he said he'd just been sending tunes to Pariah, who dug them and that he's still into the sound and would like to try doing more steppy beats again in the future.

I know what you're talking about, always thought that he'd been on techno more and just put out the hessle release because it looked like it would work out for him.
I'm pretty sure Fram at least was made like 3 years before it came out on that 12".
That being said, I also remember him saying that he started making tunes so that people would book him to play out, so it kind of makes sense that he'd make some dubstep and put it out so that he could play more techno, since that was relevant to the people he was connected with. That theory relies on my memory of hearing Ben UFO saying that Hessle only release music from people they're "friends" with.

yes he's cool. as for the label, hessle has been releasing pretty out of step (lol) stuff always so he fits there perfectly imo

the whole techno/noise/industrial/post-punk thing is the coolest shit atm definitely. Only thing it misses/needs is the process-inspired imagery

It is however pretty ironic that the whole issue is adressed by their company name and that noone has mentioned it until now.
