Meh, producers can do whatever they want. Just from my experience is that breakcore producers generally make really lame, formulaic, predictable dubstep.

Kinda funny how so many breakcore producers complain about how breakcore has gotten stale around the time it became more diverse and branched out musically, while they have no problem with making the blandest dubstep in existence.

Haven't heard your dubstep stuff yet, though.

Just listened to Aslowout and you're basically doing dubstep the way it's supposed to be done. Kinda reminds me of Scorn too. Cool o.o.

massively ironic you'd say that.

most dubstep by the cliche big names is shit.. really, when you take away the fact that it's made by a big name, it's just another tune.

breakcore producers have done some amazing dubs, the recent krumble ep was wicked, ebola does mental tunes, cardopusher has been rinsing it.

i don't think there are any absolutes...there is a lot of gash breakcore hence those guys make gash dubstep and the same goes for the fact the big names are getting a bit lazy with their tunes....all their best are the old tunes now....

boxcutter is the best producer for me.....reso is really impressing me as well...he came from breakbeat i believe...

ps that mix is awesome!

the one with i wish you could talk in it...nice one for sharing!

Wouldn't you say Milanese takes cues from breakcore?

Oh he does. There's just a number of breakcore producers who made their name in breakcore, like the bigger ones, jumped on the dubstep bandwagon, and release bland as hell dubstep. As I said, generally. I'm the first to give mad props where props are due. I mean, I dug Somantic Responses' dubstep on this page. o.o

spam away!

haha, no, this should be a pretty interesting night for open minded ppls, despite the name, we've never been breakcore purists (which I think is a contradiction anyway)

so:
23/10/09: Breakcore Gives Me Wood 7th bday @ Hof Ter Lo, Antwerp

Presenting 5 headliners that have never played at BGMW, each bringing livesets that explore the boundaries of breakcore. So we'll hear experiments with dubstep and jungle and darkstep and breakcore and hardcore, all on this here musical journey extraordinaire!

SPL (USA, Tech Itch, Freak, Genosha) (Boundary crossing darkstep)
www.myspace.com/soundpressurelevels

Cardopusher (VEN, Peace Off, Wood, Mashit) (Post-tropical dubcore)
www.myspace.com/cardopusher

Schemeboy (UK, Ninja Columbo, Peace Off) (Neo-Hardcore miracle)
www.myspace.com/schemeboy

Parasite (UK, Death$ucker, Peace Off) (Breakcore godfather)

VVOOD IN ANTWERP?

Shows how ignorant I am. I was going to visit friends in Gent around that time and hoping I'd catch a Breakcore Gives Me Wood there, I was positive that shit was in Gent.

Schemeboy is maad good, though. I'm looking forward to Parasite too. Saw Cardopusher last weekend with Otto von Schirach. o.o

I guess I'll be going? Might as well.

Wood has thrown parties in ghent, aalst, brussels and antwerp.
Belgium's too small to stick to one city, it all depends on where we can get the best venue.
Anywaze, it's 30 mins drive from ghent, so you're very welcome!

I think murderbot will be the biggest suprize on this night..

Bwa, Holland is not so bad as far breakcore is concerned, I've been booked there heaps of times, Tilburg and Den Haag seem to have the biggest scene, Not Your Monkey Not Your Robot is a nice crew, but I've played in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Enschede, Groningen, Eindhoven, so there are crews and afficianados a bit everywhere I think. http://unitedelementsofhate.net/events is a holland centered breakcore event agenda. I have a show in Eindhoven 1st of october. a thursday. weird.

Hah, yeah, United Elements of Hate and Breakcore.nl are my resources when it comes to figuring out who's playing what.

And yeah, it's not too bad. There's just not as many monthly events as there could be. Like there's a Wood every so many weeks, right? We don't really have many crews, let alone regional ones that organize a lot in the area who organize breakcore events on a semi-regular basis. Nijmegen gets a lot of good shit, I suppose, Xanopticon, Bryan Fury and the Teknoist played there a few months ago.

Enschede's my hometown, I knew there's a bit of breakcore here and there but I have the habit of missing that shit. I take full responsibility for THAT. o.o I missed you when you played in Enschede with FFF, but caught you at Dour. What are the odds.

There's about one big wood a year now. maybe 2 this year, there used to be 6 or so per year, but now there's soo many other parties going on. We're not really necessary anymore.

Ah, I suppose that's a good thing. Job well done, I'd say. The event is legendary around the world as it is, anyway. Best not to over saturate it and a good reason for me to hit up the one in October.
