Having been here a while now (nearly six months, christ) I can safely say that the Toronto dubstep scene is a bit lame. Way too much crap electro house played in clubs and bars, which they seem to go for big here. I even thought there'd be more minimal techno, with the likes of Houle, Hawtin, Mike Shannon, etc all from around this neck of the woods, but its fairly sparse for that... Grime is non existent, any dubstep I've heard played is wobblers, not even tilting towards the skull disco end of things. Fair enough I guess, they're miles geographically from the centre of it..

Good post-rock/leftfield indie/art rock scene though, if you're into it.

Mel keep it up and keep things going over there. You have a pretty good crew in that area...

That being said...west coast is killin' it.

It's one of the reasons why I probably will never move back to the east side.
