I think that is a pretty fair assessment to be honest. People just need to worry about their own job status. If you have a job and feel like you would rather take a lower paying job to show those foreigners what for, be my guest. Otherwise, be glad you have your higher paying job.

I will never understand how someone is employed and believes in hard work, yet belittles an immigrant who is working harder and for lower pay. While you guys are out complaining about how hard they work, and how you think they are taking your jobs, they were out there learning the system and playing by the rules to get ahead. Meanwhile you were complaining about their success while missing the boat on working hard yourself.

Competition in the job market keeps the demand for intelligent workers higher, and that can only be a good look for any country. Don't be angry when someone plays smarter and beats you at the game of life.

see - I disagree with this also..I am intelligent enough to work in a clearing house, but if they need a number stapled to every piece of paper somewhere ..and the spanish speakers can't tell me, then how am I going to know to do it?

watch that gang mentality also...it is RAMPANT.

there is alot of paranoia fostered in this whole thing..competition.

..and you wonder why kids are bringing arsenals to school - they are planning on winning that game over.

Don't speak against war and then foster it.

Interesting thread. definitely not a fan of Djprojekts comments..
but most of my friends views are similar so i think you just have to accept other peoples views.. even if they are not in line with yours.

what is the logical connection between "people do shit" and "so you have to accept that"?

A few things confuse me about this thread:

How can DJProjekts hold those opinions when his chosen style of music is one that is, essentially, descended from immigrant music? This forum is here to CELEBRATE the influx of new cultures and traditions into Britain... there is very little modern, popular music that doesn't owe an enormous debt to immigration.

Where does he think we came from? Britain has been a mongrel race for the past few thousand years. Celts, Saxons, Vikings, Romans, the French, the Dutch... they've all had a major role in creating the "average Briton"... the trend has continued over the 20th Century and now the "average Briton" contains remnants of all kinds of cultures - as a result we have diversity in music, language, thought and pretty much all areas of human existance - and when you throw them all together you get cities like London and scenes like Dubstep.

For someone to be selfish enough to think that we should do without cultural diversity so that "foreigners" would "go home" would quickly notice that a Britain without foreigners isn't Britain at all.

Welcome to the busiest island in the world. It's fucking brill.

lol smacked it mate.

He really showed himself as an ignorant halfwit throughout this thread. Seems to have fucked off to Have Your Say/The Daily Mail comments section now though.

It did strike me at the beginning of this that he was just taking the piss to see what reaction he would get. Pretty stupid still seeing as it was kinda obvious what reaction one would get coming out with things like that on a forum like this. He might just be the ill informed twit that he sounds like though.

Who knows?

You know, maybe he isnt a immigrant hating racist, and is on this site because he likes dubstep and recognises that its got many cultural influences, maybe he just wants jobs to go to experienced local workers who are in hard place at the moment rather than purposefully importing someone from abroad. To be honest I think its fair enough if someones living here and they get a job over a native brit, but if they've no intention to live here other than because their employer has paid for them to be moved and work here, and then go back home when they're finished, thats a bit off and its shafting the local workforce who may not be trained in anything else, and have little chance of finding a job elsewhere in their town/area.

Theres a problem with people, in that they think if someone has one right wing principle, they must be a fully fledged far right, boarding on fascist. Works the same with the left, people see one slightly socialist viewpoint and they must be a stalinist commie.

I can see why people would want to post their anti-racist / anti-chauvinist responses to somethng they see as 'offensive'. But, as a few people have rightly pointed out, there is a long tradition of British chauvinism which has by no means been the preserve of 'the right' or 'the left'. As DanRev reminds us, we should be a little more cautious to avoid making sloppy judgements which mean that we end up saying more about 'ourselves' than about the issues raised. And thereby, well . . not really getting anywhere.

I don't think it sounds like just one slightly right wing view to me, sounds like fully fledged xenophobia.

Can't stand foreigners? I doubt he's even met them all.

You're either taking the piss or can't read. I know you have different views on nationalism and the politics of immigration to me (I remember you saying that you understand why people vote BNP because they have no one else to vote for), but you can't seriously believe that the guy isn't an immigrant hating racist.

What you don't get is that your average Asian(be they from Pakistan, China, Japan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia..) will work circles around you in both the Classroom and the workroom. It comes down to this... while you're here bitching and pissing and moaning about the jobless situation in the middle of the day on a Thursday(a work day in pretty much every country) someone else is out there making that check. Don't project your self loathing on the hard working people of India who came to your country because of your bullshit colonialist policies over the centuries.

Would you have the same problem if Britons were in, say... India, raping their resources? Probably not so much.

Almost certainly not... we refer to that 'golden' period of our history as the time when the sun never went down on the British Empire! Only we didn't do it by being more competitive, we did it by sending companies backed by armies over to effectively enslave entire populations.

Unfortunately, everybody got all 'political' and asked for their countries back. Bloody Ghandi.
