isn't all this squabbling and hatred the reason why drum and bass fell on its arse.....too ashamed to be a man and say...yeah, thats a commercial tune and i like it.....or not my cup of tea but can see why people like it! just outright non-sense talk.....they're all bitches.....sucking on poisonous udders of hate filled titty juice.....wincing as the sour taste of a decade of bad milk flows through the pouros vains of another musical izan!!!!

its like if the tunes doesn't prick up einsteins ears, then the producer should be lined up and shot!!!! man, its like a wobble holocaust!!! LOL
Doesn't have anything to do with it being commercial, it's just that people like to hear fresh sounds and this isn't. The "dirty" bass sound has been rinsed so much now.

The Einstein comment is null as well, look at Loefah - Horrorshow or any of Cyrus' tunes, all stripped back, minimal and sick. A tune doesn't have to be complex etc to be good. Besides, as someone said, technical knowledge isn't essential to make good music, i.e. Burial.

i think nero is true to form as is burial, bar 9, rob sparx, dmz.....everybody....they don't set out to write a smasher, they just naturally do.

every producer has his fan base, audience, and indeed every critic...but having read most of the articulated points i need to wrap this up and gho for a wank.

here are my final salient points.....

1. Out of the people that constructively or abusively criticised the track, who actually writes music for a living?

2. To the DJ's......do you know the difference between dj'ing professionally and being a professional dj?

3. We all know the record was huge and so will the remix, so who's right.....the thousands that will buy it, or the few that have slated? when everyone else is saying its good, and you're one of a few saying its bad, surely you must have the introspective to accept that maybe you got it wrong.

4. The original artist like it, the labels like it, the dj's like it, the crowd like it, and no one has come up with a better idea of a remix, which lest we forget will also serve as a reference point to the golden era some of you are saying this has been stolen from.

5. The total arguement itself is obsolete and pointless, and has served as a distraction away from my normal positively and open minded self.

Peace and fucking folks....been a pleausure.....keep up the hate!
1. What does for a living have to do with it? Money doesn't come into it. We're talking about the track not the financial success it may or may not deliver.

2. I don't DJ, so I can't comment.

3. "People like Coldplay and voted for the sizan. You can't trust people."

4. Some things are best left, a number of people clearly think sincere is one of these.

5. I agree :D

Enjoy the wank dude.

Wow guys all I wanted was to share a dancefloor banger I really like, owing to it's melodious and referential nature, and now I've started a shitstorm.

If you don't like the tune, that's fair enough,; say so and leave.

If you don't like people insulting the tune (and in this case the artist's personality), that's fair enough too; explain why you like it and maybe start a nice debate, if it gets ugly, leave.

Any chance this thread could be locked or something? I don't really like having my name at the top of it.

1) Irrelevant.

2) The best DJs don't compromise on what they play.

3) So the more something sells the better it is?

You're an utter fool I'm afraid mate.

we don't want this site coming up in google search results for it, because its a word that gets picked up by the search engine parental control, and then this site gets flagged as "unsuitable", etc. . plus, its some horrible shit anyway.

PLAYA HATERZ

''If it goes off in a dance'' jesus this phrase has become as ubiquitous on here as it is on DNBArena.

I really resent tunes going off in a dance. That's why I hate Bury the Boy, it's too popular.

i don't even know where to begin.

suffice it to say, none of the dubstep tracks i've heard from nero (and i've bought a fair few of them) have any sort of rhythm even approaching something miles davis might concoct. regardless of whether you think dancefloor bangers are utter shit, or love them to death, you can't honestly be saying that 'kick-hat-snare-hat' is a complex rhythm.

I think the point he was making was that it's quite hard to make complicated music that works on the dancefloor. Not sure how this excuses the kind of derivative rubbish that Nero come out with on a regs though.
