Deadly that is a cool idea with the kickstarter thing.. If people already like the digi version they are more likely to be excited about a tabletop version and stuff..

I really like the integrated, streamlined workflow aspect of Unity3D.. I think maybe having experience with using it could also lead to job opportunities down the road.. I read somewhere that like 52% of newly released iphone games are made with Unity3D? Seems like a lot.. maybe i read that in a unity sales pitch hehe

Don't starve is pretty fun.. i like the visual style and the attention to detail.. Does anyone know what it's coded in or w/e? It's 3D but it looks like it uses 2D sprites for the player and stuff you interact with. I guess that's why the camera has a fixed rotation despite being able to zoom in.
I have worked with Unity3D quite a bit, it is really great so I advice you to get started with it! It gets as simple as dragging scripts onto objects and visa versa dropping objects into scrips, the code is unityscript basically javascript but the more "pro" people would swear down by using C# instead.

A lot of games are being built with unity these days, and there are so many example projects / really low priced start-out projects you can learn huge amounts from.

http://tornadotwins.com/ <-- these guys have some very decent unity tutorials out there, ignore their music.

Survival zombie MMO The War Z has been pulled from Steam's shelves just a day after its arrival. Users complained of factual inaccuracies and misleading information on the game's Steam page, some of which were posted on reddit.

Did you play Splinter Cell Chaos Theory? The rest of the series is hit and miss imo but that's one of the greatest games of all time.

Back on Wasteland/Arma2 editor/DayZ every now and again.
Also Metal Gear Solid 3 (still can't get past that sniper boss in the woods)
Started Metal Gear Solid 4 again too
Thinking about running through Deus Ex on the PS2...have only played it on PC, I hear they tidied up a few areas on the PS2 version.

are there any decent mods besides day z for ARMA 2? Is the single player campaign worth playing?

I've racked up about 800 hours on Arma 2 and I've not felt the need to play them yet.
Singleplayer wise it's all about learning the mission editor. Once you figure out waypoints and how to make units respawn you're good to go really.

It's all about the multiplayer though. DayZ is the only proper mod except I44 (http://www.invasion-1944.com) which I really enjoy.
The most fun I have on the Arma 2 engine is playing the Wasteland missions (run Arma2:OA with no mods and filter 'Wasteland') which is basically like DayZ but with 3 separate teams, no zombies, more loot, teamwork, military vehicles, tactics, base-building, missions etc. I highly recommend Sa-Matra's servers and to a slightly lesser extent, the Arma2.RU ones.

Also the Warfare (CTI mission type - 'capture the island') missions can be exceptionally good if your team is working as a whole. Think Battlefield 2 meets Command and Conquer.

There's other mods and missions like Chernarus/Takistan/Zargabad Life (some next RPG/life/GTA style shit) and Dynamic Zombie Sandbox, but I'm not really that in to them despite their popularity. The whole game is pretty much a sandbox anyway man, if you like realistic shooters and you've got an imagination, go cop it.

The best thing about multiplayer Arma is all the racism and xenophobia. The 'bad guy' team is always full of Russians and the 'good guy' team is always full of Americans and Europeans. I remember wondering why some Russian guy on Wasteland kept chasing and teamkilling me for aaages while shouting racial insults...I only realised afterwards it was because my character was black
