footwork evolved in chicago (and detroit) from dances that came up with african-american immigrants from the south in the 1910s and 20s. footwork dancing existed before footwork music did, though they've since influenced each other greatly and will continue to do so. anyway, my point is that footwork is a pretty deep rooted culture within certain urban areas in the american midwest.. i guess i wouldn't expect you to think it's anything more than a trendy rhythm and funny looking dance since it only recently got attention over here.
i came to london because of a university programme i was really excited about, the ridiculously rich hotbed of music and other arts, general despondency about the situation in the united states and a never-ending desire to change things up

footwork is an offshoot of jazztap and jazzstepping
its different now but Jazz dancing is remarkably similar
context is everything

YES
I'm so hyped this sort of shit is coming through properly now... club/dancefloor music with enough swing and movement to actually DANCE to. Gonna need cleaner ravefloors though, you can't dance to this in grubby trainers!

Drove for the first time since passing my licence... It was fucking awesome! )
- Housemate is getting a cleaner in today to tidy the flat, and a carpet cleaner in to clean the carpets, so will be returning home to a spotless palace
- During his coked up tidying session last night, he found 8€ which he has kindly let me have for my trip to Madrid
- Am flying to Madrid tomorrow for 4 days to chill with my GF for the first time in a month
- Have got an all day project management training session today, meaning my last day in the office will be spent away from the phones
