@influx very nice,, chilled as fuck. i think some mixing needs to be done tho as well. Sounds like shit gets a bit lost and and muddy at times. Car keys sample is very interesting tho, sounds nice. Where did you pull acapella from btw?
Thanks for the feedback man, I need to work on mixing.. I've been messing around with Parallel Compression and alot of other crap to get it sounding full, but I think I might have too much reverb on certain things, which kinda drowns out the kick which I think doesn't cut through punchy enough and sits too far at the front of the track. As for the acapella and instruments, I got alot of that stuff from the bands main page, they released alot of their stems so people can remix them freely

Bud - Nice sounds, the main synth is huge! I think that a little more buildup before the drop would be cool, cuz it doesn't really hit it's full potential.
Sifty - I like the little percussion sound you've got in there. The whole song has a really great atmosphere too, the little sample before the drop fits really well. I'd suggest putting some of the guitar skanks in the intro, cuz the dubby drop kinda felt weird.
Alex - I only listened to the first one, but I kinda liked it. Not really my style, but I like the sounds, they work pretty well together. I'm not really a techno listener, so I don't want to make any suggestions, but the little perc hits at 2:00 sound kinda out of tune. Maybe you were going for that though?
Here's mine, started it an hour ago, so it's pretty rough.

@thanks ,can you give any suggestions for a more intense drop i could add a bigger sweep or bring the sound one after another, couldnt think of a fitting vocal yet .
i like the style of the track with the little vinyl scratches but maybe add some cutted vocal samples like some old motown acapella pitched up or down and put it nice mellow in the background with some wide reverb?

@hudson. I'm not sure about the straight hats at 0.42. It needs more skip if that makes sense. The beat is so laid back already, I think with some short snaps of 16th/32nd hats shuffled about it may lift it a bit more. But nice guitar line and vibe all round.
@budspencertron 0.15 the drop sounds like it comes in a half beat too early. It sounds out of time. Sidechain the lead synths with your kick track or turn them down, they are drowning the drums out. The snare sounds pretty good though. Maybe vary the synth soudns between parts. But I love a big ravey synth. Could turn out pretty well.
@crow Nice deep sub. Like it. Drums have a nice punch. The snare could have a little more snap though. Maybe a trebly clap sample would do it. The drop sounds out of tune. I'd fiddle with fine pitch and pitch it up a tad. I can tell the notes played are in key, but the overtones are bringing it flat significantly enough to make it sound like it's out of key. I really like the synth/sample at the start though. It's got a unique vibe.
@daniraw The drums sounds pretty good. The wobble line progression is not something I would choose musically, but with a mastering job the whole thing could sound good. The vowelly part however sounds disjointed, like it belongs in another track. I think a drastic change in midrange synth wouldn't work unless you pulled a brostep and just mixed the sounds in each part.
@BevOh Drums have a good punch. Fits the type of track well. I like the synth sounds. I think it'll be a banger.
@Sifty Love the big sub and the reggae vibes. The reggae stabs are a bit loud. The pingy resonant line in the background is good, so is the one in the fore from about 1.25-1.40. I think the synth sound for the main melody sounds a bit 90s Japanese story video game though. I like the change in beat at 3.15, but not a fan of the synths. I think you should strip this whole thing down. If the whole thing had the vibe it had at 0.30, it could be such a nice track.
The hardest thing I've had to learn is not how much to add, but how little. You've got the backbone sorted though, that is the drums and bass. Keep workin!
I don't really have any WIP. Just offering feedback. Apologies if I'm a bit critical. The standard of production is generally so high now though. Well done everyone.

@hudson - Liking it very much, the guitar and soothing percussion match very well together. I also like the vinyl sound you've implemented. I don't have anything to complain about, great job!
@BudSpencertron - Nice one, cool synth noises. I would try to not go too far with the reverb though, perhaps it could be toned down some. Great melody, too.
@Crow Steppa - Haha cool sounds. I like the drop, though it's a bit repetitive for me. Also you could try giving the sub bass a break here and there, I don't know if it sounds right being played the whole time.
This is a track I started on this morning

@Voodeedoo - Hey man I'm really likin' this tracks intro, it's amazing and has a good atmosphere.. I also liked the switch to a more house type track in the middle and at the end, great stuff. But the drop, seems lacking : / It's not hitting hard enough from what I'm hearing. The wobbles seem to be lacking something, I think they might need something behind them to beef them up. But damn I love that robot sounding vocoder vocal thing.. Very good start I think though

Thanks! Haha I thought the same about the drop, but it's tough working with the ES2 in Logic to give it justice. I've yet to really master Massive.

@Crow Steppa - I like what you have going here, the sub bass is a little much in parts, The song before the drop is a little repetitive but all in all i think its a great WIP.
@hudson - Love how chill this is, very relaxing. Something in the back of my mind was expecting the it to drop out of no where and go crazy, But really chill man, Love it.
@Voodeedoo - Liked the intro very much, the wip as a whole is very chill, loved the wobble at 0:59. All in all a very good wip really looking forward to the completed track
This is my first attempt at this, so, Please feel free to rip me a new one

would rather learn now than keep repeating the same mistakes ya dig? Either way, Im sure it needs a lot more work so i'd like some input

Cool stuff, Bev! The bass work is pretty sweet, I love all the modulation. The hats(?) sound great too. I'd suggest adding some vocal samples to keep it interesting though.
I changed some stuff up in this, it's got a shorter intro, some vocal clips and chimes. The structure is rough, but I'll smooth it out tonight.

@psypher- for first attempt it was pretty good. just keep practicing and get way better drums. drums are gonna help you a lot trust me
@bev - i like it very experimental. i like the recording ideas as well. been doing that a lot lately. in my track im gonna post i recorded some stuff as well
@hudson - nice deep track, and i love that vinyl crackle

. even the little guitar thing is sweet no complaints hear except the vinyl crackle gets a little old so maybe automate it to come in and out of segments.
for my track

@Mannyyyyy - Lovely lovely stuff, great build and great drop. I have a fetish for anything that sounds close to a transformer. Great job.
@BevOh - Listening to this on headphones is a strange and enjoyable experience. The movement on the main mid-bass sounds like it is vibrating somewhere near my teeth (yes I know that sounds weird, try it and you'll understand what I mean). Great drum sound.
@Psypher - Nice strings, If it was me I would mix the strings quite a bit lower in volume. Keep them subtle and apply some volume automation to fade in and out slightly to give it some feeling. I usually keep strings for a key build in the song too, if used throughout they don't tend to retain the same dramatic effect.
Something glitchy i've been working on. Not necessarily dubstep but I really appreciate you guys' feedback. The tempo isn't going to alter the feedback ey

(160bpm)
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, this is my first track I've been working on with a friend. I've been fooling around with Ableton for a while and am now ready to hear people tell me how terrible I am.
It would be awesome if you guys could rip into it and tell me what's fucked up. I feel like the sub is way too loud after just hearing it, but I would love to hear anything else.
Thanks in advance!

Here's my promise feedback.
@ideeate All the sounds really blend well with the atmosphere in the background. I would try to find some nice female vocals and see how you can integrate them somehow. Glitchy sounds are really nice.
@Mannyyyy Only thing i can really say is that the mix needs work. Shit is really loud at some point and things are getting lost and muddy because of it. Just work on mixing it and it will be awesome.
@hudson Love the chilled vibe of that tune, it just flows so well. i have to say tho when you said you added in vocals i thought there was gonna be this nice soft vocals over the top which i think could work fairly nicely.
heres mine again, dont really know what i can do with it now that ive listened to it with a clear head today. dont even know if its really worthwhile continuing with it.
@hudson the hats are a boxcutter sliding up and down haha.
can anyone guess what the other recorded samples are?
one is the second bass that isnt the one thats out of massive.
another is the higher pitched kinda sound that screams.
and there is one layered over the kick.
there is also the ambience one but that is just some random background noise i recorded and distorted and put reverb/delay on.
would be interesting to see if anyone can figure out what they are but dont forget to give feedback too
