In a courtroom the us guy will have to put his hands on a bible.
If he did that in a european courtroom he would be asked to hurry up and read it at home in his private time.
That is ofcourse an exaggeration but to me that's some of it. The exaggerated morale compass you get when you go against socialism and force christian ideals into places where common sence could exist.
